Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

Gift cards I’ve always considered but never done because it seems to hassly. But probably worth doing, agreed. Qantas wine on the other hand has been a goldmine for us and it’s not only for (mostly nice) Aussie wines: Champagne for example is a good one, would be silly to forgo those points. Or...

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

Oh no- bad news! Easily available Domestic J redemptions was one of the few last bright spots in Qantas’ frequent flyer program. And we all know that they are lying because the same happened with these stupid “Classic Plus” rewards on international routes: OF COURSE the whole point is to...

How do Hyatt treat you as an Elite?

Property: Hyatt Place Orlando i-Drive/ convention center Tier: Globalist Booked: Standard King Received: Standard King with large sofa bed I cannot recommend this place highly enough! There’s plenty of hotels in Orlando that used to be posh and are now crumbling apart at the seams but this...

Article: What You’ll Earn on Flights Missing from Qantas Points Calculator

I’m on of the weirdos who truly enjoys going through earning tables and the likes. But I bet that for the average occasional flyer, this whole topic will firmly be in the “too hard basket”. Which might very well be by design

    Tailor in Singapore or Bali?

Hi everyone- travelling through both Singapore and Bali later this year and am wondering if anyone can recommend a reliable tailor to get two wedding suits made? There’s plenty of old threads around here but they seem to all be way out of date. Bali is probably much cheaper but I am bit weary...

    Qantas A330-200 cabin refurbishments

Plenty reasons for this other than he aircraft type. But I try to avoid those longer routes on the A330. Just had a fabulous QF First flight on the A380. In my eyes in many ways better than the EK First flight on the same aircraft type just a few days before. So Qantas definitely has many sweet...

Case Study: How Matt books flights to Europe

I’ve found SIN, BKK and KUL all useful for this- to a not insignificant part because they’re enticing stopover locations in their own rights. While I’m personally not a fan of Manila, it is often the cheapest choice.

AFF Review: KLM Boeing 777-300ER Business Class (AMS-PBM)

Thank you so much for posting, how exciting! And an interesting wine list- never had a wine from the Netherlands I don’t think and there’s a Red from Austria on it which is a rare sight in this part of the world too. Can’t wait for our flights now!

    Qantas A330-200 cabin refurbishments

Oh please Qantas, they never learn, do they! Just get new aircraft instead. I already HATE those A330s with a passion on the longer legs to and from Asia and I am talking Business class here. The seat itself might be similar to what is found on the 787 (but highly annoying with the divider if...

Case Study: How Matt books flights to Europe

This is pretty much the approach we’re taking to fly to Paris for our own wedding next year: Velocity redemption for SQ in premium Economy to Singapore one way and on the return the same through Qantas on Jetstar “Business” class. Then a Business class return out of Asia on Qatar airlines for...

    Qantas LAX First Lounge

Current menu in the Qantas F lounge at LAX: Loooved the beef tacos and the sundae (it had proper chunks of brownie underneath all that ice cream which was devine). Pork Katsu was alright, too much rice and slaw for my liking but otherwise tasty.

I had Jeff Goldblum sitting in the seat behind me last night on QF12 in First. I was star struck the entire flight!

    Qantas First Class menus

First class menu from yesterday, QF12 LAX-SYD. Loved the Pommery Louise, better than your run of the mill Dom Perignon in my opinion. Overall, I had a super nice flight. 2 hours delay out of LA but the amazing crew more than made up for it.

Qantas Early Check In at TBIT (LAX)

Check in today open around 2:30pm, no issues at all. And flying in First, I even got a lovely escorted fast track through security. Took maybe 10 minutes all up from rye check in counter to the lounge.

AFF Review: KLM Boeing 777-300ER Business Class (AMS-PBM)

Thank you so much @Scarlett and glad to hear there’s a full meal service and even one of those beautiful houses 😍 And “KLM ASIA”- interesting! Whenever I see KLM, it reminds me of my very first flight to Australia which was on a KLM 747. A very long time ago, obs!

    AA domestic F(J) meals

Me neither, up to this flight! Serious miscatering it seems, not only my meal but also so many other things running out that quickly- on a 5 hour flight! Unfortunately, the crew was also particularly disengaged which can be hit and miss on many airlines, admittedly.
