Am thinking we should have a main thread for posting info re all matters SQ which are not that important and do not warrant their own thread.

For example - I am heading out early morrow on SQ218 dep 01:05 - anybody else on the flight? Can catch up in lounge or outside - might be able to sneak 1 extra pax into lounge who wouldn't normally have access?

Connecting tomorrow to PVG - SQ830 dep 10:00. Was originally booked on SQ828 with dep 07:30 but changed it. How is this - they give you brekky on 218 before landing - then into TPR for a shower and.................brekky..................then onto 828 where they serve you.............brekky. So decided best to spend an extra 2hrs or so in SIN and arrive into PVG coupla hrs later - will skip the brekky on 218 but will enjoy lunch on 830 with the later departure time.

Posted in Suites thread that I could not book mixed class J PEK-SIN then F SIN-MEL on 24th as F allocation ex PEK exhausted on 227 - so I booked J both sectors. Called Crystal to check if any chance at all can upgrade to F on SIN-MEL sector 227 and answer is YES maybe possibility - I need to call her back on morn 22nd and she will confirm yay or nay - gotta love SQ.

Just noted on SQ web site it appears that cut off date for Changi Dollars now extended again til Sept 30 - with 2 transits in next week I will now have $320 worth of vouchers - am going to cash these on an iPad Air when coming home on 24th - great way to use them I think.

OK clarification of Changi Dollar promotion - YES promo has been extended til Sept 30. Spoke to girls when I collected my S$40 vouchers just a few mins ag- apparently the promo was extended just a few days ago - even they were not informed of this decision - first they new was when pax started lining up to collect their vouchers and informed them they saw extension listed on SQ web site.

I asked is it likely there will eventually be NO end date - their response was maybe but who knows - so guys you got plenty time to add to your stash if you have trips planned or cash them now - but please do your own checks don't take this post as Gospel.

Arrived into SIN at 05:20 - into TPR at 05:30 - not only was TPR totally empty but not a soul in main section F either - so now we have experienced sole occupancy of SKL F MEL / F cabin on 218 / SKL F SIN and TPR in succesion - wow - better get home and get checked for leprosy or sumpin'!

Gotta love bekky in TPR - full A-La-Carte menu - KISS for me - scrambled eggs, bacon, hash, asparagus and mushies - not keen in mushies. They have the BEST coffee in F lounge just sostrong - hits the spot totally - but alas no Coffee Art:

And what better accompaniment for brekky than a glass of Dom:

Whats that you say? Champagne at 06:30 is disgraceful - I agree - I find it best to travel Rio time:

19:30 Rio time = perfect time for a beverage or 3!

So this is what 16 x Changi $20 vouchers looks like:

And this is receipt for usage:

32G WiFi Space Grey iPad Air - list S$773.83 - S$320 Vouchers = S$453.83. Mind you would not have cost me a cent on CC if Cruiserette did not decide fist full of vouchers I had last July would be best used at Charles and Keith Shoes in T3 at that time.

Flying on points, collecting vouchers in transit for free. Love it!

good thread, I am now getting forced to work over time by the trouble and strife so we can fly F and she can have Dom with her bacon and eggs, thanks a lot.;)

Now some info on mixed class redemptions that I was unaware of until last week and which has totally floored me.

YES you can make mixed class redemption bookings - NO you cannot do it online - YES KF call centre staff will honour 15% discount because mixed class redemptions cannot be done online

BUT

What needs to be done is 2 x individual redemption bookings - eg I needed to get home from PEK yesterday - the flts I wanted were 805 ex PEK dep 08:45 arr SIN 15:25 and 227 dep SIN 21:15 arr MEL 07:50. Now there are 2 ways to do this - 1. Book it yourself online and pay full cop for PEK-SIN pts and taxes and then book SIN-MEL at full cop pts and taxes - so you end up with 2 separate itineraries - OR - 2. Call KF call ctr and they will book it for you and put it into 1 itinerary but you will still pay the full cop pts and taxes for 2 x separate bookings - but they will still honour 15% discount - hope this is clear but info below clearer.

J Saver Redemption PEK-SIN-MEL cost you 61,625 KF pts + RMB1,720 taxes

F Saver Redemption PEK-SIN-MEL cost you 78,625 KF pts + RMB1,903 taxes

BUT if you want mixed class J PEK-SIN / F SIN-MEL it will cost you PEK-SIN 29,750 KF pts + RMB729 - Then SIN-MEL 63,750 KF pts + S$252.90 = RMB1,215 for grand total 93,500 KF pts + RMB1,944.

The reason I was seeking the mixed class was cause 805 ex PEK only flt out of 4 that day that did not have F cabin - 16:40 dep has F but you then need to o/n in SIN wasting another day.

Morale - avoid mixed class redemptions unless you have over supply KF pts.

My experience was a bit different

MNL-SYD in J is 46,750
SIN-SYD in j is 46,750
SIN-SYD in F is 63,750

I upgraded our MNL-SYD on the phone and was charged 17,000 points each.

You upgraded both sectors from J to F for extra 17,000pts right?

Yes both sectors for 17,000 points each and approx $14 in fees

We were also lucky enough to change our SIN-SYD flight from the 00.45 to the 20.40 at MNL airport, giving us about 1.5 hrs in TPR.

But that is simply an upgrade with 2 J sectors to 2 F sectors - that is easy to do and can also be easily done online - the point I was making was where first sector is in J and second sector in F - or vice versa.

So I am on SQ805 dep PEK at 08:45 yesterday morn - they serve 'Brunch' as it is post 08:00 dep time which is cut off for 'Breakfast' meal serving. Metal is 777-200 - 38 J seats / 27 pax in J cabin this flt - and SQ load obe bott Bollinger for journey. One bottle of champers in J - ONE - Now I did not have first drink until they started serving meal at 10:00 which was basically full lunch service with entrée / main / desert / cheeses / coffee and pralines - so I partooked in the Bolly - was informed I was only pax drinking champers - I noticed a few others into reds and whites - but only me drinking Bolly - which I duly emptied before flight over - I hate to see wastage.

But I was really surprised and YES I know its kinda early for many people to partake - but with 27pax (71% full) one bottle seemed pretty light to me - thank god penegal and blackcat were not also on board or else we would have seen a hell of a squabble!
