I just signed up to the AFF flight Tracker and I am trying to figure out how to link this to my signature.

Appreciate the help.

Firstly open your flight tracker page and click on the [settings] button.

The next page will show near the top "Banners" and below that "Bulletin board banner (phpBB)".

Select all the content of that box and "copy".

Go and edit your violin playing goat stuff and paste to where you want.

FWIW, I prefer a smaller banner so have my own hard code signature.

I almost copied you, but didn't. I'd love a smaller image, I'm just not sure how. Or some dynamically updating text. I hated how your previous banner was missing a comma when y got over a million km too.

you mean once he went past 1,609,344 km? :D

He was an early adopter, like me, and as he added more flights there became an issue where a comma disappeared, probably because the banner wasn't wide enough, when were talking about making it smaller.

My flights are a work in progress. Missing several years and will get around to tracking down flights at some stage.

One thing for people to note. If you use tripit integration, do not delete the app within tripit... you can't reassociate.

I initially imported all my flights as recorded on BA97. That was only from January 2006, but the distance tally went strait to about 1.2m. Subsequently I have tacked on my 2005 log.

Still have several hundred flights mainly from 1994 to 2004 to add.

I'm at 914,000 odd miles lifetime, really want to do something special when I'm ticking over the millionth. Hmm... sipping Krug in CX F would do it. :D

Thanks serfty

All good as you can see. I can't be bothered adding all my previous flights. I will pretend I am new at this game and see where I end up when I retire. Although, now I think about it, I can download all the flights off Velocity...hmmm.... time will tell.:)

I have an excel spreadsheet for 450 flights listed; just trying to work out what needs to be imported without the manual import.

After 3 hours of mucking around I got this.

My spreadsheet is over 600,000 miles but a few segments I couldn't figure out the error so deleted them.

I started with Flight Memory about 8 months ago and all entered manually (Lounge time put to ?good? use). It got to be like family history .. tracking down long lost flights.

Fortunately I've used a TA for flights in the past 7 years so all flights well recorded; then resorted to passports and got back to 1998. Sigh. 20 years of flying before that probably lost forever, except a number of internationals remembered for one reason or another..

Thanks for that... somewhere else now to check my movements. Forgot about the passport.;)

There is always the option to request your immigration movement records... http://www.immi.gov.au/managing-australias-borders/border-security/systems/movement-records.htm

Never knew it was possible we could get access to flight history.

Read on the site regarding date ranges, actual form says if over 30 years ago we need to go through the national archives.

I was once listed in mums passport as a baby (30+ years ago), which I still have. Would it be easy to match / obtain the "older archived" history?

Would ♥ to try all this over the coming weeks!!!

Cost(s) involved I wonder?

Great tip, thanks. Sure to prompt some memories of trips way past! I think I'll be relying on the "Where you went" & "where you have come from" bits.

Strange there is no mention at all about costs. I can't believe it would be free. Maybe they assess the request, then quote costs depending on # of movement s found?

Was free when I pulled my 10 year history about 5 years ago.

Printed out at four entries per page (2 pairs of entry/exit) , and poor staffer then stamped and certified every page.

Just obtained mine today in person. Still free...

A few questions (if actually possible to answer!)

1) What's the meaning of Port? (ie: Port: TU, Vessel: MH120). Other ports = EA / KI.
2) Are there any ways of finding the flight history through other countries? (ie: Melb ---> China, then China ---> London, then London -----> Melb). I do see departures & arrivals for home, but would so like to get the flights in between many other countries also.

Spent 2 months overseas, many different countries travelled (Norway, USA, UK, China are the stamps listed).

I made a request in person a week ago and got the results e-mailed to me today. As with coles525, still free.

In spite of them saying it would be available back to 1974, they now say that I can only get back to 1990 from them and need National Archives for ones prior to that. I'm OK with that.

You won't get the intermediate flights, but I'm hoping to get the arrival cards I've filled out, which should remind me where I got onto the arrival flight, and 'country where you spent most time abroad' (for those trips in the 1970s and 1980s :) ) A question for Archives.

coles525, the 'PORT' appears to be the first 2 letters of the airport name . TU - Tullamarine. KI = Kingsford Smith EA = Eagle Farm (I assume - Brisbane)
