re: ††† R.I.P. Best Flights

IMHO BF was the best site i had found to compare latest F & J deals from multitudes of carriers - simple 2 click process and right in front of you was prices of F & J to virtually any destination in the world.
Couldn't agree more, bestflights.com.au was a great site and by far the simplest way to find indicative flight pricing. I used them a couple of times for J flights and didn't have any issues. It's surprising that no other site presents pricing the same way.

re: ††† R.I.P. Best Flights

Only used them once when got an AF J flight HAN-BKK.Was cheaper than Y flights on other carriers so was a no brainer.
Used them a lot though for checking fares.was easy to use.
And where did they get helloworld from.my immediate reaction was why John Laws.

So does anybody know an alternative site that presents anywhere near the content of current flight pricing? In particular for J and F?

re: ††† R.I.P. Best Flights

But wrt this new site is rubbish. Nowhere can you see in one table of all available flights to a destination and quickly swap between J and F as one could do on the old site. Still searching for anything vaguely as useful for weekly check of available specials.

re: ††† R.I.P. Best Flights

I hate the new site. Bestflights was such an excellent site for comparing fares.

re: ††† R.I.P. Best Flights

So people loved the old website for comparative pricing but didn't book through them
And wonder why it has changed

re: ††† R.I.P. Best Flights

Have you looked at their new site www.helloworld.com.au?
I surely have - totally useless in the extreme - hence why I am enquiring as to alternative sites that fellow AFFers might use to compare a broad cross section of F and J offerings from multiple carriers indicating current pricing and specials - the old Best Flights site was a just a gem for this application.

I can only speak for myself but YES I loved the old site and YES I did use it to book flights - only a handfull of occasions but then again it's rare I need to purchase 'paid flights' - I posted that my experience with BF was faultless - others posted mixed experiences.

So it seems there is no alernative out there?

re: ††† R.I.P. Best Flights

So last night Cruiserette announces she needs to fly to Helsinki on or about Apr 5 - spend a week there then return - what are her alternatives?

Easy - log into Best Flights and check it out - hang on - it no longer exists - and no alternative - don't you hate that?

re: ††† R.I.P. Best Flights

Queried Helloworld via Facebook. I too was missing the Bestflights search feature. Received this reply (22.2.2014). "That is a feature that we are working on getting on to the new site. Unfortunately I don't know when that will go live, but keep checking."

re: ††† R.I.P. Best Flights

I don't do the Facebook thingy so can you guys please keep us posted as to if and when this feature is indeed added?

Re: What's up with Bestfligths? new website

I'm not a fan of the new site. It's goodbyeworld.com.au for me!

Same developers who gave us more freedom and flexibility on the Qantas site by removing JASAs by any chance?

re: ††† R.I.P. Best Flights

Sadly I've been researching via Webjet.

That search engine is so unfair. On an itin I was looking at Swissair flights were coming in at about $1,800 and then a range of others with the first SQ flight being offered at about $8k return for Y. Obviously checking directly to SQ showed the same flight for $2k.

I just found that search engine ot be so unfair.

can we just by the old bestflights search engine or is it the 'linkages', business decisions and relationships that make it work?
