You must have read it incorrectly as it has been $75K for at least a year.

My apologies, indeed, I must have being asleep when I wrote that, I was thinking about another card , so that is the reason. My mistake, I better go to spec savers..........

No worries :) My prescription has drifted and I need new lenses again :(

Though it seems that as long as you apply for $15K + of credit you can gain it with a less income, and not much credit history.

I advised my daughter "how" to apply and even though she only started full time employment in March after 9 months travelling the world post-Uni, and earning a chunk under the $75K she now has a shiny new FFL Signature card.

With this card plus her free KF Westpac card which earns at 1.5 KF per $ and Amex Edge she is now equipped to maximise her point earn in most spending situations.

Sounds like you are candidate for father of the year me thinks ;)

So do you put down say $70k and then apply for 15k limit? As you said the income was a touch below $75k?

I think you need to PM me your secrets. I'm under reassessment at the moment after threatening to take them to the financial services ombudsman.

My main tip is that many staff have some discretion in how they apply things.....so to always be friendly, chatty and polite when looking to get what T&C may not indicate you should strictly get.

From earlier posts by others, I had already gleened that you needed to apply for a $15K+ cc limit and that this was probably more important than income.

My income is paid annually at the end of the f/y and they couldn't understand that. I tried for a reassessment and was knocked back again. Anyone tried for a reassessment of the reassessment. ;) I'm just wondering if it's worth changing my income to monthly just to have another go?

Oh ok. So what I come did she put down? I'm about $72k but not sure if it's worth applying for this card?? Did she put down her real income ?

No she was a chunk (as in big chunk) under, and not a bit under....

Sat about two thirds of what was required ;)

I was always friendly and polite but firm. Unfortunately, they didn't tell me they wanted a tax assessment in addition to my tax return (WTF they'd want that I don't know) and then things got stupid (and deceitful) from there. So I fax them a letter requesting a reassment at their instruction but they don't process it until I call them asking where things are at some 4 weeks later. They are actually retarded.

When my wife applied online she put down her income as less than 75K (she put down her income as per her pay slip) and left the card limit so they could set it. She was approved with a 17K limit....

I still think requesting a 12k balance transfer is a big carrot for them to ignore (80% of the minimum credit limit for signature ;) )

I put down my real income, about 20% short of the $75k, but put in a credit limit request of $15k+. Approved. Thanks for the tip, lovetravellingoz!

Well I do have the incentive that if she can redeem for her own J flights, that I no longer have to provide!

Time for the chick to leave the nest.
I like this, there is a point where being a good Dad isn't proving for their kids, it's getting them to the position they can provide for themselves!
