1,000,000 SAS Eurobonus miles for flying with 15 Skyteam airlines

SAS still has the good award chart where any journey in the pacific is 25,000 miles return in Y or 50,000 return in J. It's 60% of this for a oneway so 15,000 miles in Y.

Notable “countries” in their pacific region include Australia and Hawaii meaning you can go SYD-LAX-HNL for the above pricing (obviously pending award space availability).

I spent a little bit of time crafting some trips and thinking about it all...

There are restrictions on fare classes not earning points as discussed on flyertalk forum (need to earn or burn points to qualify).
But, as for registering the flights, someone mentioned you should be able to add the PNR to the SAS app - so should help with the tracking / earning points (if claim in retrospect).

Thinking about all this, it does seem a bit ludicrous to chase 1m points... when RTW fares all in J with similar carriers could easily be done 'purchasing points' (eg wine, insurance, bribe) and doing that.

If I was a travel blogger, I would give it a crack, but it's not worth the stress, heartache and torture save up some points and do a proper relaxed rtw trip.

... an hour i won't get back. Really missed the mark on the whole challenge and benefits realised
It definitely doesn't make sense when you do most of the trip in J/F - I wonder how he paid for it. If he used cash and credited to EuroBonus, then it should be fine. But if he used other currencies, there's every chance it won't count for the promo (from my understanding a flight needs to have activity on the EB account).

Of course, he won't give squat on what he actually paid, because why would that get in the way of good content! Flying 17 airlines also just doesn't make sense, and it's definitely not "all 17 airlines in the Skyteam Alliance" - there's more than 17...

I too was wondering how he was paying. Perhaps ‘burn’ activity? The KAL first class trip at the end would have been expensive for example.

I only get 17 full skyteam airlines though?

There's 17 possible airlines for the promotion, but I count 19 - the two left out of the promo are MEA and ITA.

And yeah - I'd assume that it's burn, considering all the one-ways. But I still wonder whether it'll credit or not, I'm sure there's discussion on FT about it and I'd imagine someone smarter than me has worked it all out

ITA is on the way out of Skyteam, and I'm not sure if anyone would voluntarily fly to Beirut at present.

Can only imagine he paid for all the flights.
J/F so he can make some dedicated flight videos as well (Y vids just don't do well in the YT algorithm).

From other sites most value 1m Eurobonus points at about US$10k.. and always useful for YTs to have a stock of miles.

He had a new sponsor for this video, some watch brand, and I presume it was all cash bookings. He said early on that it was booked all economy but upgraded various sectors.

Looked like there would only be 2-3 full flight reviews to come from it as he was doing multiple flights each day and sounded like he slept through many

oh. I must have slept skipped through that

Oh yes… MEA. I guess as pointed out they couldn’t really include them on grounds of ‘do not travel’!

If you could get 50k J return to Bali on GA, that would be 20 returns… would be valued around $55k. Not bad going! (you’d probably get two or three before they devalued tha award chart… but even 10 trips return would be a huge sum)
