Received the following email in response to my enquiries about why I have never received any Qantas points (including the 10,000 bonus points) from any trade I have made with IG:

"Dear Dr Ralph,

Thanks for your email.

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't received your Qantas reward points. I'll double check with our corporate action team and you should receive the points in the next 10 business days.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us. Alternatively, please visit the IG Community where you can share ideas, knowledge and experience with other like-minded traders. "

That could be it possibly. My available credit does not indicate the account is in credit however the “current balance” figure does probably due to the lag in processing transactions etc. Might give it a few days for all the transactions to clear and for the figures to match.

A few days appears to have done the trick. Was able to deposit this morning without issue. Will see how it goes tomorrow.

Received my 10,000 bonus points on the Monday after making my first trade (along with 2 x 25 points for buying and then selling the shares).

My 10k (+a couple more trading points due) came through yesterday. Opened account 12 dec. Phone call to chase last week.

I registered and made my trades on 7 December. No points posted yet either. Help desk advised back in 2nd week of December that the registration was fine, and to wait 6-8 weeks.

Hadn't received any points at all after 6 weeks so I sent them an email. Got this reply today:

We will use reasonable efforts to ensure that Qantas Points earned by a Qualifying Participant are credited within eight (8) weeks of opening an account or placing a Qualifying Share Trade (as applicable).

Qantas is responsible for crediting Qantas Points in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.
Any disputes relating to the crediting of Qantas Points should be directed to Qantas directly. Any disputes relating to the eligibility of a trade to earn points, or the number of points earned, should be directed to IG.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us. Alternatively, please visit the IG Community where you can share ideas, knowledge and experience with other like-minded traders.

Regards,
Brett Eve

Seems to me they are trying to avoid paying the points by blaming Qantas.

The wait continues...

My 10,000 points showed up yesterday. Around 6 weeks after making my first trade. Also received 25 additional points for making the buy trade. But nothing for making the sell trade on the same date.

Yeah, it's classic buck-passing. Qantas can only credit the points if given the okay from IG. And something tells me that's where the problem lies.

I'm over eight weeks with no 10k. I'll give IG until the end of the week, then I'm filing an ASIC complaint.

Still no points for me.

Is it ASIC or FOS to complain to?

Seems quite hit or miss, I registered on a Wednesday earlier this month, bought on the Thursday and my 10k +25 came through the next Monday.

I'm chasing my 10,000 points. they advise that I have not signed up on the link. I don't see how i otherwise would have signed up as I had never heard of them before.
Maybe a glitch on sign up but the funny thing is the 50 points for trading x 2 have posted.
see what happens.
I'm not giving up the only reason I signed was I saw it on either the Qantas website or Business Rewards website and followed through from there
Somehow I think they have been avalanched with people signing up ?

Got another response advising 'Your bonus points have been posted and will appear on your account soon'. This was last Tuesday. Nothing posted yesterday.

Gday

I used the online chat facility yesterday to chase the points(both bonus and normal trading) for a friend who completed a trade 7 weeks ago. After confirming identity they said it appears all criteria has been satisfied and they would pass it to the corporate team in charge of the points. This morning I checked and the points had been credited.

Pele.

Still no points for me. I'm contacting IG today to tell them they have until next week before I lodge a complaint with FOS.

Could you share a copy of the letter you send?

I assume you contacted IG first to try to resolve the problem?

I can't share it because it's all typed online through the FOS form. But it's all very straightforward. I referred to IG's promotion of 10k FF points for new customers who make a trade. I referred to email confirmation (and included that with the dispute) of my eligibility for the promotion. I referred to the email from IG a few weeks later (and included it) stating I needed to wait eight weeks. And I referred (and included) my email to IG of 10 or so days ago asking WTF is going on that has been ignored. Really quite brief and to the point.
