10 million points giveaway - and a 15% bonus points transfer offer in November?

Just received an email with a link to this promotion: Velocity’s 10 million Points giveaway

which runs from 1st November to 30th November. Under "Ways to Earn", there's this little teaser: Transfer your credit or charge card points into Velocity Points between 1 - 30 November 2015 and receive a 15% bonus. More information coming soon!

Fingers crossed that CBA will be a part of the offer this time!

I havn't done the math but I think transferring from Citi then to SQ will not get any benefit.

Well they already have your points transfer locked in, so they don't need to entice you.

Transfer the 115,000 velocity to SQ and you get +/- 85,200 KF

Better off transferring directly... Citi to SQ

Well observed.

The fact that reward seats and upgrades for Gold and Platinum members come out of the same pool is the issue here.

That and the fact that J reward availability on many partners is terrible.

And that upgrades to J on partners is unavailable.

I am most of the time, very pro-Singapore Airlines, however it all depends on what you want to do with your points as there can be specific awards which are much better on different programs. For example, Sydney to Los Angeles is 94,000 velocity + around $100 in taxes; 94,000 converts to around 69,230 Kris Flyer points; Sydney to Los Angeles (via SIN,NRT) is 80,000 Kris Flyer plus $700 in taxes. Thus you are much better off here to use Velocity points and go direct to Los Angeles, you will be $600 and ~13,500 velocity points better off.

I think the terms and conditions show a good insite to the value of points ... Which has been raised previously as being between 1 - 3 cents (per point).

Yup the J class avails have dried up faster than a puddle in the desert - a few have trickled back now but I have enough points maroons with VA and have no intention of adding more!

There has been better, but it was so long ago that I think 15% is as good as it gets these days.

CBA were included in the last one but in recent times, they only seem to participate in every second offer, so very pleased to see they're actually on the list for this one as well.

The last one (in May, from memory) was one like that, and included Citibank. That was enough for me to tip my Citibank and Amex MR points into VFF, and grab a couple of J reward seats to New Zealand for later this year.
