Well you are very lucky, half your luck.

Anyone applied, got knocked back for the good bonus due to recent cancellation and cancelled the new card before the annual fee?

Another data point: I signed up while having another Amex CC (by Amex), indicating so in the application form, and was approved and got my sign-up bonus. So far I haven't heard of any one being denied the sign up bonus. Amex do (from what I hear) limit customers to two cards at a given time (e.g. if you already have 2 active cards, they won't open you another one).

Here's my link :) Thanks!

Lawyers ... is this actually enforceable? After all, a 'friend' might mislead me.

Is this:

coupled with this:

Why should I comply?
If you fail to comply with these ‘Refer a Friend’ Terms and Conditions, your participation in the program may be cancelled and you will no longer be eligible for any Membership Rewards Points from the ‘Refer a Friend’ program.

a bit sterner in tone than in the past?

It's pretty well established that having an existing Amex card does not affect your chances of getting the bonus. It is good to hear that recent cancelee's are also able to bag the points by the sounds of it.

I have had no problems with receiving bonus points while holding another American Express card. I also received a "refer a friend" bonus for referring the missus while she was holding another American Express Card :D

Here is my link to the American Express Velocity Card with 100,000 points offer, free domestic flight to selected cities and 2 complimentary entries to the virgin lounge!

Great card, especially now that local champion is available on it. Also if anyone is paying for a wedding reception in the future, many of the venues come up as restaurants so you get the 3 points per dollar ;)

My very first iteration with the forum (before I was a member) was using someones referral link for the 110k offer, have no recollection of who's it was, but maybe someone would like to return the favour :) My link is http://amex.com.au/refer/benjawYLAQ?CPID=100199911

Can everyone please say if they have used someone's referral links as there is a limit on how much they can be used and it would be a shame if someone clicked on a link that did not give any benefit to the referrer.

Any use of the referral link would be greatly appreciated :) trying to get enough points to visit family overseas.

Awesome increased sign up bonus! Anyone who uses my link is in for the same 100000 Velocity points and I stand to benefit by 60000 Velocity points. I know there are a whole load of other referrals in here as well so I appreciate anybody who decides to use mine. This has been a very useful card for me, I find the 3x points on restaurants / food and 2x on travel very handy!

Cheers all!
