I will be undertaking SYD-PER-DXB-CDG next month, Due to Emirates shifting its flight from PER I’m now stuck in the airport as a transit passenger for 12 hours. Reading the WA Gov guidance I will have to remain at the airport until my departing flight. Any tips or exciting lounges, things to do, see in the airport ?

Don’t tell Mark!!

You will not be let to just roam around the terminal for 12 hours. The current direction indicates that transits over 8 hours might actually get placed in a hotel quarantine facility (at no cost to the traveller).

Regarding the shops, don't expect much. Throughout the pandemic it's just been the duty free store and a single cafe open past security.

And the observation deck on level 3 at T1 International is temporarily closed...

Might be worth trying to contact Emirates (or Qantas if they were the ticketing carrier (award flight?)) and see if they will put you on the more direct routing SYD-DXB-CDG on account of the extended transit?
