Will you finish a whole bottle all by yourself :o *hic*

Before dinner? Probably not. :p But, it is late sitting at 8.30 so....

Princess Fiona, the rooms are spacious. But I'm glad Mr P isn't coming because his clothes would have to stay in the suitcase.

I didn't think I was particularly tall. But the six formal gowns I have are draping the floor. Weird.

I'm unpacked. Settled in. hic. Just forayed into the buffet called Kings Court and it's still a zoo. But now on promenade deck with coffee in hand and this view:ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1394421557.414998.jpg

The lifeboat is up top ReLoad.

I'm excited and I'm not even on it. Have you actually sailed yet?

Surprisingly much of the art work onboard is Art Deco. Such as these examples. ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1394422786.226346.jpg

I'm also a bit lost. Headed stern instead of aft. It's a big ship.

Nup. Doesn't stop me though. :p. Departing in five hours. There's muster to report next. That's a hoot.

Lots of "other" famous people have voyaged on CunardImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1394423344.918405.jpg

Hmmm. Lots of people removing tips. Sods. Also it seems that love_the_life and I are the only ones happy with late sitting. Lots of newbies methinks. A group of four booked just last week through a cancellation are desperately arguing trying to change to early sitting. Maître D patiently saying that early sitting was waitlisted last June!

Wait til I get on to the self service laundry topic. Probably all urban legend though.

I've only been on a 3 day cruise, so never needed to launder. Do share your experience tho!

I haven't been on the QM2 or any Cunard ship for that matter, but on the cruises I have done laundry was actually quite reasonably priced. As it is almost impossible to dry wet things in the humidity of a cabin at sea before they start to go mouldy, paying for an occasional few items of laundry became a no brainer for me.

Have a great time Pushka. Looks wonderful.

.

8.30 seems extremely civilised to me. What time is early sitting?

It's 6.30. It works out quite well for shows, but not pre dinner drinks or coming back from excursions. And they kind of rush you for the next sitting. Last time we had a great table and were often the last to leave. I've just made sure that love_the_life and I are on the same table come Brisbane.

Anna, you are right about the laundry.

I have it on very good authority that the Verve bar is very nice. And there are staff who socialise with the guests as part of their job, what is nice about this is that they have a bar tab to buy drinks for guests. Get to know who they are, (generally not drinking but mixing with everyone). The theatre is also meant to be very good.

I can attest to that. And will check out the guesting stuff too. ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1394434957.580912.jpg

It is good to see Old Dame the Younger is already posting pictures. Old Dame the Elder is stuck at home until next Sunday :(

Maybe I should have titled it "An Old Dame and a young lady ...." :p

Good lord. What is with some people at muster. They announce "do not put your life vest on". On that announcement people do exactly that. Put them on. The crew have the patience of saints but they do tell them to remove them.

Just had a good announcement about the dress code. Very specific it was.

Waiting for sail out. On a beautiful balmy evening.

Billiards?
