20,000 Woolworths rewards points with a pet insurance policy

I have a couple of hounds dropping turds throughout the back yard. Maltese/coughzu Cross (Maltese Cross in the drop down of the application).

So Gordon is coming up to 9 years old and has had his plums souvenired. $18.67 per fortnight. Glenda is coming up to 8 years old and has also been violated. Same price. Played with the quote screen ratcheting it back a year each go, it gradually come down to $11.87 per fortnight for about 18 months old. Get younger it went to $12.53. Seems to make little difference (from my brief playing) around between Male and Female or your own date of birth. I haven't been coughd to play with postcode just yet.

Either way $100 (Woolworths rewards) is OK if you're paying sub $40 (assuming a month of payments) and have some time on your hands (times x number of WW accounts). I have 6 accounts in the family but only 2 hounds. At least twice should be good but not sure how you go with "imaginary pets" or even if you just insure the same fleabag multiple times.

Was just looking at prices last night to get an idea of the liability but looking closer this morning, it looks as though they're not offering 20k Woolworths points anymore. Either going through the link provided at Post #1 or via the Woolworths website direct only has a promo for 6 months of free Vet Assist (some online pet resource). The other benefits are all rather la di da, but no mention of 20k points.

I'm out after thinking 20k points * 4 = $400 for an outlay of $18 * 2 or 3 * 4 = $144 or $216 equals a good profit.

See earlier discussion. Point bonus never featured on website. So nothing has changed. Use the code to get the offer. Still available. Closes Feb 24.

not sure how you go with "imaginary pets"

Are you saying I don't have a cat named dog, even with my allergies?!

Reality is I have two greyhounds, but being rescue I'm sure insurance would cost a fortune. Didn't even look. We actually find the pet plan from Best Friends to be good value, but that's neither here nor there.

'Offer applies to new policies only before 11:59pm 24 February 2019 and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. To receive the offer you must be a Woolworths Rewards member (excludes Tasmanian residents) and enter your Woolworths Rewards card number plus the promo code PET20K at time of purchasing the policy. Woolworths Rewards bonus points will be loaded within 30 days of the first premium being paid in full.'

Being a Tasmanian resident seems to exclude me though I do have a Woolworths Reward card from when they first started as Everyday Rewards.
Going through the link provided I see not mention of Tasmanian residences being excluded, so the question is take the risk for the points or not for my beloved cats Max and his twin sister Maxine who have just had their 1st birthday.
$9.92 is cheapest I can get with 1yo Cat unknown breed.

I did not notice a box for "rescue' dogs or cats, (good on you for rescuing). It's worth a trial run to get a quote perhaps. Given that people who don't have pets are taking it out, it may not matter where the pet came from.

Hope you didn't take the risk... the very first post in this thread has the T&C from the email :

Could an invisible cat live in an invisible house though?
(and would it be alive or dead or both?)

As I never received the email and relying on the website which does not show the same exclusion, I would argue they would need to honour the deal.
I am sure my beloved Max and Maxine would not complain about moving to another state for a month o_O though I would be worried about a Dingo taking my babies  which would then lead me to cancelling the policy.

Edit: Just found on the Woolworths Rewards Website Tassie gets excluded from the program, so looks like that would be there "out" in giving the points.
Luckily I had forgotten my beloved Max and Maxine now live interstate, just need to update the address details on my account o_O

Thanks for the heads up, OP.

I own two German Shepherds and this was a good opportunity to get one of them insured (the other already was). We are genuine dog owners (apparently unlike some here) and FWIW my wife has a senior position in ACT (dog) Rescue and Foster (ARF).

It's unfortunate that people who game the system, as some here apparently do, really don't seem to care about the impact their actions might have more widely. Perhaps that's the way of the world nowadays...

Points for two ‘pets’ to two separate accounts have posted for me. Would be interested to know what effect cancelling now would have .

I’ve purchased 3 policies across two accounts, with one serve of 20000 points posted each. The last one that hasn’t been posted is purchased on the 28/1. Just wondering if anyone who purchased after the 28th has received points?

And just one last question: can one convert the woolies dollars into Qantas points?

TIA

I purchased on the 28th and points have not posted yet either.

Should be no effect. When did you apply and when did the points post?
