20% Bonus Velocity Points on Auto transfer

So with the 20% Amex Plat promo: 100,000 Amex MR points = 38,709 SQ KrisFlyer via Velocity.

Unless there's a specific SQ reward seat via KF that isn't available via VFF, that is still very poor value.

The same SQ business reward seat that I redeemed via VFF was 74k VFF pts compared to 68.5k KF miles.

Had I gone with KF points, I'd have needed almost 60k more rewards points (205.5k pts compared to 148k) for that same reward seat - this was via NAB Rewards but AMEX has the same 3:1 ratio.

I think the implication is that they transfer Amex>Velocity (2.00:1.00, plus 20% bonus) then onward Velocity>KrisFlyer (1.55:1.00). With the bonus, this resolves to 2.58:1.00, which is more efficient than going straight from Amex to KrisFlyer at 3.00:1.00.

Yes KrisFlyer availability much better than Velocity - and only option I believe if you want to travel F.

Also KrisFlyer gets access to SQ reward seats earlier - so if you have firm plans and want to lock in award flights, much easier with KrisFlyer points than Velocity.

Particularly useful when trying to get J awards for a family which are often only possible 11-12 months in advance
