i got a call today from the people at Hilton. Offer only for today and i was one of just 5 to get such offer. Harldy believable but anyway, the loyalty program is sold for A$275 and covers Hilton properties in Australia, NZ and Fiji. 20% off this and 20% of that. Monthly specials with offers like $79 for Perth, $199 for Sydney, etc. PLUS a special voucher for $99 for a night's accommodation but only applies to Australia and NZ, not Fiji.
Have others signed up for Hilton Premier Club? and how useful are their offers?

If you read the forums you will see that there are several people signed up. Mostly I use the 20% off published rate benefit. In addition, I am on a two year membership that was just over $400 for the two years. Given that I do save more than the cost of the membership, and I am only a fairly light user of Hilton hotels (but enough to be silver HHonrs), for me it works. Have not really used their special offers, although ave been tempted by some of the package deals they have had (Fiji, coughet etc). Just haven't had time available to go.

The offer you got sounds pretty standard :)

You really need to look at your Hilton usage. Look at any possible bookings you would make with Hilton and deduct 20% from the cost of MOST items. (Some things such as parking don't get included.) It certainly works for me and like oz_mark I signed up for the 2 year renewal. Sometimes I use their monthly specials (as posted by Lindsay Wilson), sometimes I use their going rates minus the 20% and sometimes I use my company corporate rate then get the 20% of all the extras. It certainly increases the flexibility when making bookings.

Ottawa_Man,

Welcome to AFF.

The contact number is an Aust Toll free number 'Membership Enquiries
1800 251 600'
so I'm not sure how helpful that is.

I'm happy to ring them if you wish. Just send me a PM if you'de like me to follow-up.

are you missing an extra digit in that number?
i am interested in finding out the price and how we go about buying one!
i am thinking of staying at the hilton and i believe it will be a great saving!

The number is correct. As mentioned it's an Oz number. Look at post #3 on this topic and click on the link and the number comes up on the RHS. ;)

Australian 1800 phone numbers are 10 digits long, while North American 1800 numbers are 11 digits (if you include the 1, which in North America can also be considered the country code).

So from North America, you need to dial 011-61-1800-251-600.

It does work. I just tested dialling that number via Chicago (while sitting in the SIN FLounge). But of course there was nobody there to answer the call at 11:20pm Sydney time.

Ottawa_Man,

I've sent you a PM. :D

Just received this email from Telstra Bigpond the other day.
Is this a good offer (extra 3 months for the price of 12) ?
Are there likely any better offer from past experiences?

from what i have been hearing if someone sponsors you the price will be lower than 275$ but they have to pay for the membership.

i tried calling that 1800 number it seems to only be available within australia or using an australian phone overseas

Correct, and they must us the same credit card as their original membership.

I use such a mutual arrangement with another AFFer/FTrt, $202.50 PA. We alternate years on who gets the FF points for the CC payment. :p
