Well just about to board a flight to ADL. Thanks everyone for an enjoyable pre-event day. Sorry I can't be there for the main event. Enjoy.

Merry Christmas to all, or do I mean happy holidays. :p

Oh...I thought you were staying for dinner, otherwise I would have had a longer chat at Mel!

Hope you all enjoy and my apologies for not being there. Currently in the SYD J lounge after taking my daughter to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

I can confirm that there are quite a few people who are booked into the HSW, are Diamond and do not have a +1 staying with them, so there should be enough 'eligible spouses' :p to go around. (Thanks everyone for providing your accommodation details.)

Hopefully HSW will not care if the booking does not say 2 people (rather than 1). I know for myself that I actually have a booking for 2 people (which costs more), which means I can legitimately have a guest for the lounge, a place to crash for anyone and an extra spot for breakfast.

Any reason to not have used http://www.australianfrequentflyer....b/hilton-hhonors-spouse-stays-free-34657.html ?

As reported on Facebook I"ll be in the room category I booked, namely an "Any Weekend Anywhere" King Relaxation Suite.
If I'm yet again advised at check-in "As a Diamond member we have upgraded you to our blah blah" I will scream!!
You have been warned :p

So... verdict?!

Have fun tonight peoples!

Do you still need collection from MEL?
Thanks Jessica.

Hired a car and I am now at Hilton on the Park. Flight arrived late and got into Hilton at ~7:30pm and in the lounge at ~7:50pm. Have managed 4 beers in ~10 minutes and ~15 prawn rolls and 11 vegetarian falafel balls.

My biggest concern right now is I parked just around the corner and it says 1P from 7:30am to 10:00pm. Any chance of parking inspectors being around after ~8:45pm on Saturday night? Otherwise I may have to go to car and roll it 1 foot. ;)

The official festivities have just concluded at the HSW Exec Lounge.
Was a very well attended event with fantastic organisation by munitalP as always and generous corporate sponsorship from QF :)
Thankyou !!

Those who aren't going to the official dinner, there are a few if us grabbing a bite nearby

Was fantastic to meet so many of you. Thanks Platinum backwards for organizing a great event and congrats to those of you that won the prizes!

Melbourne now have sneaky in ground detectors to check if you have moved or not. Might pay to move it to a different spot because they don't use chalk anymore. Grrr

Too late now. The car somehow managed to move 2 feet forward so I believe that is now a new parking space as it is no longer in it's original car space. ;)

Had a lovely time at drinks, was great to meet so many more people. Might actually be ready to go on a lounge run now. :D
