Thanks to Munitalp for getting the ball rolling on organizing the AFF XMas function, thanks to the assistance from Oz_mark in the final collection of money and thanks also to anat0l in collating the Hilton info, thanks to the sponsors, the staff at Hilton South Wharf and Pure South our dinner location.

It was great to see so many AFFers in one spot, actually there were a few I didn't get to properly talk to, as there were too many of us, although I did get to have a good chat to a few of you so thanks.

Sometimes you do wonder whether getting a good room is such a great idea, you almost don't want to leave and because your room becomes a prime target for an after party, I had to chase a few of you out, it was after 3:30am :eek

Thought I should add a few photos.

Lamb which was another main option.

Seems like I didn't take a picture of the dessert. :oops

Sigh...sad I missed yet another great AFF event, from the looks of it.

Lindsay when you have a young family it is hard to get away, so it is best to spend the time with them, but as your children get older then you will be able to get away easier, enjoy the time with them. It can be hard to juggle family and work commitments with AFF events, I know a few people had to change plans, some couldn't go but that meant others could attend. Quiet a few of us are single so that gives us the chance to attend events of our own choosing, I guess the best solution when you eventually find someone is to have similar interests, but children always add a level of complication.

Surprised there are only 7 photos from dot, of the event.

I have added a few photos and there are a few on the iPhone which I can show you next time we catch up, although I did instigate the group photo that dot posted. This year Princess Fiona didn't look like a blue smurf, and if you are looking for JessicaTam she is not 5 foot and Asian, yes I asked before I posted that last comment.

I hope you all had a good Christmas and I will see a lot of you in 2013.

Big thanks to munitalP and oz_mark for their great organisation efforts, especially munitalP who has had to do it often from afar.

Kudos also to Qantas and Amadeus for the gifts; a shame you couldn't join us for the festivities, but thanks all the same.

Thanks also to the Hilton Melbourne South Wharf for putting us up and giving us a section of the Executive Lounge. Thanks also to Pure South who put on an excellent three-courser.

There are photos... though most of them are probably for food. I'll try to upload what I have.

The resident Do photographer Bundy Bear seems to have a few up; we also had another willing apprentice, beardoc, which we'll have to wait if we see those photos. :D

Aaah... that probably explains why she said she was commented when she wasn't wearing green "last time", cf. this time where she was in a wonderful emerald green.

Hey, I pulled stumps at 3am! What shocked me was that some that were still drinking after I left were already at breakfast when I finally got there at 930am:shock:

I'm finally getting back to posting here after Christmas - the JQ1 run, everything at HSW (thanks to munitalP and anat0l) were perfect, and then a run back on JQ3 Monday with Bundy Bear was a lot of fun. I met so many of you on the afternoon and evening and missed so many of you as well (there was a fleeting hello with Princess Fiona, for example!). Dinner with petej, storyteller andstraitman was a blast - I have caught storyteller's MegaDO bug now and will be planning one of those in the future if I can get on one!

Thanks again, everyone. I had a friend there that didn't quite understand the whole thing, but he saw what was happening and all the upgrades and the extra little attention we were getting, and he decided that he is going to join our ranks. So I did a little bit of evangelising through the weekend as well.

I'll look forward to the next event - so I can meet all the people I missed this time around!

I suspect I'll throw up the photos on the Facebook group - or should I be putting them somewhere else?

I've put my photos up at the AFF Facebook Group. Go to the group and then select "photos" in the menu options along the top, and you'll find them.

On a serious note, thank you to Mr and Mrs MunitalP for organising a wonderful evening. As the recipient of one of the major prizes (10,000 QF points) I am very happy and thankful to Qantas for their generous donation to our community.

Rest assured they will be used with great pleasure.

And the points have posted today, another happy reminder of this wonderful evening and community.

Mine, too! Thanks again to munitalP (& for chasing me up on this. Flying to Thailand after Christmas seems to have made me forgetful). And Mrs munitalP, too, and all other helpers. And QF for the points. :D
