It's not getting axed. The question was put as to whether poster would continue to get it next year. The answer is that only if they re-qualify under the normal T & C's of the program. It is a one year offer only that that Marco Polo did extend into the second year last year and are not doing again this year. Read the T & C's to confirm.

It's like most things with Centurion. Just year by year propositions.

Yes there isn't much available through Centurion that's exclusive really - other than the annual fee of course

Confirmation from my RM today that Marco Polo is finishing up. Depending on the renewal date, they will extend for a further six months and that's it.

Did your RM volunteer this information or did you ask about it? I spoke to my RM and the subject of MP came up, nothing was mentioned about the benefit being cancelled. :evil:

Lol let's call it the Centurion lounge but let everyone with a platinum card in after all they nearly have the same benefits except ones metal and has a $5k annual fee

No I'm not actually had one 8 years ago then down to platinum then they offered it to me again (even though they said they wouldn't )last year so I went back to Cent'

This time around I'm actually happier with it more upgrades at hotels, better status with various programs etc I'm definitely getting more out it this time $5k worth ? Probably not but I'm not the type of person to do a spreadsheet to see if I'm getting value for money out of a card so I'm happy enough.

Pukka you are right. At the end of the day if someone has to justify spending $5k annual fee on a card then you probably aren't the target market. The way I see it, if you travel enough you probably have status at your favorite hotel and with your choice of airline.
By the way, is there a chance our paths may have crossed at a bream or bass tournament?

My RM rang informing me about the Skyward changes, and I asked her a direct question. She said we will be contacted by Cathay in due course. She also asked when will my membership expires, and I told her my renewal is May and she said it would be extended to October and that's it.

I had a quick look last night, Skyward have the same burn rate as Qantas, so it is definitely not as good as CX Diamond. The staff on the CX Diamond line is so good that you can always get authority to have seats released for you, at least close to the dates that you want.

My RM asked the same question when I checked with her. My membership ends in June next year and she advised that anyone with a membership expiring after 1 April 2014 will receive another 12 months of membership before reverting to a level based on the mileage actually flown. So based on that you should get another year of membership.
