I definitely don't recall this as a benefit. Unless it was offered to selected members, or it was a benefit that you are required to requalify which I have no interest in. Losing CX is a big big loss for me.
I didn't have to do anything. They announced it as one of the new hotel loyalty benefits (like HH Diamond) a few years ago and so I clicked a link on the web site and received a welcome pack a few weeks later. I almost never stay at Shangri-La so I think I only had one opportunity to use the lounge access since getting the card.
