Great race with lots of midfield action. Don't think ROS got much tv time

Dan did well after making the wrong split second decision to go to the outside rather than the inside but recovered well and minimised alo and vet's points gain.

Thought ham was very lucky to stay out with his contact. Tyre walls seem stronger the year

A really genuine race with plenty of overtaking and nice driving. Really enjoyed Alonos's driving with Dan and Seb. A pleasure to watch.

Was also entertaining (for other reasons) watching Kvyat's bravado trying to pass Perez around the outside..it didn't work.

Bizarro moment of the race:

They did have a big gap, but why they didn't send the marshals from the safe side of the track I don't know

Considering there was marshalls running up the pit lane to assist I have to agree. I would have preferred a safety car and was surprised it didn't come out but not the end of the world.

Agreed as to why the marshalls on the inside of the track didn't retrieve the car, it was much safer as the car ended up right down the inside of the straight well away from the racing line. I'm glad they didn't bring the safety car out, IMO F1 is using the safety car too much these days when localised double yellows would be sufficient, and to also enforce the speed restrictions in those zones.

I've never understood the concept of using a safety car that allows cars to pass and catch up at full race speed, to then only be slowed down wherever the safety car is.

Watch out for next year, when the absurdity of the safety car will reach new heights with the re-starts rule.

Pretty entertaining race. I have been more and more impressed by the performance of Dan Ricardo this season, as exemplified by Alonso complimentary comments about Dan. Good drive by Hamilton as well, this year may not be his, but I feel that he might have another world championship in him yet if he finds more consistency and is in a fast car.

Like others - I'm not a fan of the idea of standing restarts but we will see next year what happens.

I was wondering where RIC sits in the team. He is the top driver this year with Red Bull, but VET is the reigning world champion. Who gets to call the shots? Not counting during the race when the lead car picks when to pit etc.

Sounds like I missed quite an entertaining qualification session from Hungary, thunderstorms possible on race day. Saw a Mercedes with smoke and fire coming out the back, didn't need to check who's car that was - - he is having some shocking luck this year isn't he...
