Ordered one of the QANTAS Epiqure bundles. Hopefully the lack of itemised receipt isn't a problem when claiming.

Not a problem, you just need the barcodes from the bottles when submitting your form. I've actually got nowhere to put my fridge, so I'll be happy if it takes 16 weeks to arrive.

Given the barcodes aren't unique, then surely you could upload any random (albeit legitimate looking) receipt and enter the barcodes?

I don't make the rules, I just drink the wine... I'll sell you my barcodes for $10 each though

haha - no need - they've accepted my request. But just thinking, a lot of receipts these days are electronic, so it'd be easy to alter a DM or Epiqure receipt to be whatever you want. You can get the necessary barcodes from Cellartracker or just walk into your local DM/1st Choice/etc and write them down. Not that I'm advocating this.

took less than 24 hours for them to verify my order and I doubt epiqure would have responded that quick.

Unsure what you're saying here.

My point was: if the receipt is irrelevant (as long as it doesn't say "Bunnings" at the top), and only the barcodes are required, then you don't really need to purchase any qualifying wine. Just take any old emailed receipt, and submit the required barcodes.

I was guessing that vintec are not actually checking the receipts with the retailers, so you could probably get away with an old modified receipt.

Made my claim for the $1199 fridge earlier this week (after purchasing 2 dozen BIN 389 for around 48 a bottle). Claim was validated within 48 hrs and my credit card was charged immediately.

Seems a good deal for them to take $1199 and not deliver the fridge for up to 16 weeks.

The main thing that's holding me back is that I don't have a good place to put either the smaller or larger versions, especially for long term cellaring use. The best place for it would be under the stairs, but this is a small enclosed space and I think the machine would be forever working against itself - cooling in a space that would get warm from the unit itself.

I'm struggling for space as well and will have to put this into my garage. Such a shame I know as it's built for display, but I have no other choice.

Question: Are people buying these for long term cellaring (that is, you would fill it up and essentially forget it for years except for the very occasional extraction) or for short term, especially for whites (you would turn it over in maybe one or two years)?

For me this is my $70+ bottle of wine fridge, where I wont be looking at anything in it until at least 5 years after its release.

i think you're right about this. I made my claim using the PDF version of the Dan Murphy's receipt I received after making my purchase online. I don't think it would take too much effort via a PDF generator to make up one from scratch or to alter someone elses.

You probably could, but I don't like being naughty like that.

For what it's worth to me this offer is ~$3K spend for 2 fridges (worth ~$3K), with some free wine.... So ~$7K of value for $3K is a good deal if you are in the market for a wine fridge or two.

I am thinking of getting a smaller one for my sister as a house-warming present. She enjoys the odd wine, but not as much as me. She loves turning the heating up really high so this would be essential for someone like her whose house is always an oven.
