He gets away with it because he's the new golden boy and has dragged a new legion of young fans to be interested in F1.

It'll be fine - until he injures someone.

And Raikkonen just had a tank slapped in the formation lap. Wind is proving a problem.

Well Hamilton's dominance of the Barcelona race made it look rather processional, but I noticed after the usual national anthem at the beginning of the race, they played another song which apparently was the Catalonian national song. This seemed to surprise the drivers who were dutifully lined up as usual, and apparently rather annoyed Alonso who made to leave before the song was finished, and visibly huffed on the close up tv shot of him.
I'm surprised the FIA allowed a second anthem particularly given the political situation in Catalonia.

I watched the first half of the race before the need for an early start overrode the need to watch the end.

I'm just surprised the FOM allowed such a politicly polarising action, as the separatist movement is not universally approved of in Catalonia, let alone Spain, as witnessed by Alonso's reaction, as well as whistling from sections of the crowd.

Indeed, makes it really hard most weekends. Saving grave for me this week is it is my late shift week, so don't have to be at work until 13:30...

Thanks for that intel. I didnt realise it was starting 1 hour later than usual. Any reason? The new US managements attempt to improve US audiences?

I was considering recording it but whatever happens the result will be in headlines.

It's Monaco, there'll be no overtaking at the pointy end. So a good getaway, stay clean, no mechanical issues, proper tyre changes (!) and he wins.
