It is looking likely that there will be a hostile Senate pretty much no matter who becomes PM. If that happens Australia will be a hard place to govern.
I don’t like the 30% Trust tax rate idea nor the high income tax surcharge as it will hurt small business.
The idea of a 27.5% company rate and a 49% top personal rate is ridiculous and will lead to tax avoidance.
The Labor tax package is still a cough sandwich for an economy that is struggling.

of course any swings are never ever even, but unions had the election a month ago & are pissing off so many people, they are about to lose it, but we say election & we are really only referring to lower house. The senate is where almost everything is approved or not. Clives no dummy & can see him with balance of power. Luckily for unions & LNP it's only a 1/2 senate election.

In anyone still needs a hand with understanding what to do with their vote, I can recommend the following guide. The Canberra launch on Sunday by Charles Firth and James Schloeffel was a bit of a laugh, and thoroughly satirical ( which I think is the best way to view politicians & politics). All sides of politics copped it.
What was extra interesting was the audience (being careful in case any other AFF'ers were there but I didn't know it) with the demographic (Millenials or Baby Boomers and not much in between) and excessive number of Green's t-shirts.

Seeing smug Steggall the hypocrite lose in Warringah is the electoral pleasure I am hoping for - just a typical underworked, entitled, wealthy inner-city preachy nutjob who wants everyone to sacrifice and suffer for the sake of her Gaia-worship obsession whilst she personally continues to drive a petrol-guzzling 4WD and won't put solar panels on her own home. The sort of cretin whose thuggish GetUp supporters now dump poo outside Abbott's office.

Well I've voted and came in the wrong side of the parking area so got to avoid the gauntlet of how to vote people.

The process was clearly explained, all boxes must be numbered on the green paper. On the white Senate paper, a minimum of six numbers above the line or 12 below the line but not both.

In and out in five minutes.

Oh, and I am entitled to an early vote by virtue of working on election day.

Well the LNP have their launch this Sunday (Mother's day) so they may release a policy, if they have one.

One question I have liked is; "If Labour wins the 2019 election and repeals franking credits will you reinstate them when you inevitably regain leadership of the House in the future? Or will you silently thank them for saving billions of dollars in future budgets?""

As for Libs policy.. they don't have really much $ firepower.
By altering tax policy (absolutely not a tax hike says Bill) Labor has a lot more $s to throw around.

Personally I think globally, and particularly in Australia, there are going to be some issues in the next 4 years, so winning may very well be a poisoned chalice.

Agree, whilst I don't like ScoMo at all, it is not acceptable for anyone to be attacked in this way. It doesn't matter which side the pollie is on.

it's not over til it's over. Way to close to predict the result in the lower house, but I think we must all agree that Clives advertising will work to some degree & he'll almost certainly be a kingmaker. Imagine Short or Scomo going to clive on their knees ?

Quite possible that a Labor govt would be able to pass legislation with support of Greens and Centre Alliance (the former Nick Xenephon team)

Palmer's only real chance is in Qld, and I suspect would take away a seat from Malcolm Roberts of One Nation

you mean the unions ? They won't win. They've stuffed it up. Clive will probably get a few senators around the country. Think greens will be wiped out.

They might not have to on all of the legislation, if they go to each other to each other to negotiate - then they can completely exclude minor parties. This does happen in some instances (albeit not where there is an ideological divide, or where the topic at hand can be used as a political wedge).

Which unions? The doctors, the pharmacists the BCA? They're right wing unions who are happy to continue to suck off the public teat of the taxpayers and will support the Morrison government.

As for the National Farmer's Federation, well the term 'agrarian socialists' is quite apt.


Or do you mean worker's unions who are made up of employees then you're talking about 1.5 million people out of a voting base of 16.4 million people?
