Haha when we experienced business class from Perth to Sydney and return about 6 years ago I knew there was no going back.

Old or new (wife), once the pointy end has been sampled, it is very difficult to retreat further to the back of the plane.

So far plan is Feb, HKG for 5 days.
Booked PE in a DSC offer with QF, hoping for an upgrade to celebrate my 30th.

Still haven't booked accommodation in Hong Kong, so any suggestions are welcomed :)

@AisleSeat & @GPH
It's funny because after our honeymoon slumming it on a Qantas A330 in business was tough work haha .

We only get one big holiday a year if we're lucky so we plan in advance and that way hopefully we can always find premium awards seats.

March: Sydney-Honolulu-Sydney
Jun/Jul: Sydney-San Francisciso-Boston-Monte Carlo-Mediterranean Cruise-Venice-Montaione (Tuscanny)-Zurich-Singapore-Sydney

Knee replacement - now that opens up a whole new world of the vagaries of security routines worldwide...

Good luck with the op.

While the start of 2018 saw me finish my epic 2 month East and South Africa safari (9 countries) and I have a Nepal & Tibet trip starting this week (getting excited!), 2019 will be much lighter travel (just like my wallet!).

I’m visiting Colombia for the first time and USA (New York for US Open bullet list Grand Slam event) but this trip will see a J Experience in QF MEL-SYD-DFW and a SQ F Experience JFK-FRA-SIN-MEL.

So very excited as this is my first ever SQ experience and I’m starting with F in A380 (old setup) to Singapore and B777 SIN-MEL.

After my late 2017 EK A380 & B777 first ever F Class experience it will be interesting to try out and compare SQ. Damn I might have spoiled myself with F travel, can I go back to long haul Y, PE with occasional J???

Three weeks in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, AKA the 5 'Stans :):):). Fulfilling a MAJOR bucket list ambition; its over a year away and I'm already poring over maps and guides.

Trying hard to find a suitable tour in Sudan.

Trip report please as I’m definitely interested in the Stans!

Thinking of adding 4-5 days in Greece as a side trip in March. It's been close to 10 years and I miss the village.

That’s a coincidence, I have heard old and new male partners have the same issue. ;)

I hope not! Recently booked SQ suites to LHR as I'm a firm believer in trying what's on offer at least once. I don't want to waste all those points all the time though!

Myself +1 Heading to South Africa in late June 2019 for our Honeymoon for 2 weeks.

Secured 2 x J return award seats on QF, but have yet to book any accommodation or tours yet.

Possible "white Christmas" trip plannned for December 2019 if time & $$$ allows.

We're heading to South Africa on 20 Nov to 1 Jan. First time back for Christmas for my darling hubby!
Also now booked Uk and Europe for April.
Mel - Manchester - London - Budapest - then river cruise down to Amsterdam and then home to Melbourne.
You gotta have the next one booked so you not depressed coming home right!

It's fair to say that travel to Africa gets in your blood - I have been 3 times in the last 5 years .
Its one very addictive destination to travel for leisure.

Absolutely! Was there three times last year!

I wish I was going to Africa - for me its a three week trip "home" to NZ for the Aus / NZ Biennial Glass Conference in February / March. Followed by three weeks in Europe in July / August, with one of those weeks in Paris for friends "important" birthday celebration. I will be looking for a J positioning flight from Melbourne to Hong Kong as have already bought an SAS J ticket Hong Kong to Paris for $2,880.

To the UK for the Ashes in August, then Ireland and Italy with stopovers in Singapore and the Maldives.

The plan is SQ F into Europe and EK F out with SQ J between PER and SIN.

Slight change to the plans looks like we are going London, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria then Italy which will be all on trains.

Flights are all booked in using a combination of Krisflyer, Qantas and United miles.

PER-SIN SQ J 777
SIN-LHR SQ F A380
FCO-DXB EK F A380
DXB-MLE EK F 770
MLE-SIN SQ J A330
SIN-PER SQ J A330
