Can't believe Oscar's luck.....
An interesting race awaits for sure, suspect there will be a bit of action...

The stewards would have had a very late night, I'm going to wait till the race start to see what the grid looks like.

Just watched qualifying on the replay. Wow.
I think the stand out for me was Liam Lawson. Does he get to keep that seat, after beating both Red Bulls? After all, Daniel has a contract.

Good to see the Kiwi starting in the top 10. I think LAW shows he's got what it takes to be in F1. Hopefully we see him with a permanent drive soon.
Hoping to see a RIC/LAW pairing at whatever AT is called next year.

Stroll out of the race after qualifying crash yesterday.

Stroll should stay out and stop wasting daddy's money.

I dont know what the solution is for the traffic jams they keep creating...split field in half and run 2 sessions, random draw for spots and times??
Yes some will win and some will lose but its better that the current circus where every driver abuses the other driver for doing exactly the same thing as he is doing...or will do the next lap.

He's looked good.
Same as what they said about de Vries last year when he got a go lol

Yeah, QF is a shambles (qualifying, not Qantas, lol, although could apply to both)

Some interesting tyre strategies, different race tactics, tyre degradation and the random nature of safety cars made this interesting and possibly the only race worth watching apart from the Dutch F1 race so far this season. The advantage of having them "bunched up" was the lack of wasted time getting lapped cars to "unlap" themselves and got quicker and shorter safety car periods. When first I saw they had removed 4 corners from this year's Singapore track I thought that would make the race more boring, with less potential for overtaking, accidents/damage, and safety cars. I hope that Singapore does not become Monaco in future races.

Not sure if this sudden loss of pace in the Red Bull cars is a Singapore-specific thing or more systematic. Many will be hoping that its the latter, but we will see what happens in Japan.

STOKED! Ricciardo’s major announcement on F1 future

Daniel Ricciardo has secured himself a seat with Red Bull sister team AlphaTauri for the 2024 Formula One World Championship season.

In a statement released on Saturday the F1 team said West Aussie Ricciardo and Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda would be its two main drivers for the 2024 season.

“I’m stoked to be driving with Yuki again next year and continuing the journey with Scuderia AlphaTauri,” the West Aussie star said.

“Following the progress we have already made and the plans for the future, it’s an exciting time for the Team. We are building and it is a great feeling. There is a lot of work to do, but we are heading in the right direction and there is a lot to look forward to. Bring on 2024.”

Earlier this week AlphaTauri said they were in “no rush” to get the Aussie star back on track.

I wonder where Lawson will end up then, if anywhere?

Gotta feel sorry for Lawson who in limited drives has performed better than both of them.

That's the constructor championship wrapped up for RBR and was good to see PIA with his first podium. Interesting to see them put PER back out to avoid the penalty carrying over to a potential grid penalty for the Qatar GP.

I'll be in DOH in 2 weeks for the race, so VER is likely to take out the overall championship during the sprint race on Saturday. Given the time our flight arrives on Friday it means we'll miss qualy, which is a pain in the butt but oh well. Need to decide whether we want to spend the day in the heat and do the sprint shootout and the sprint race, or just the sprint race.

I’m in Japan now for the race and the heat/humidity was beyond brutal. Probably manageable for just one day, but wouldn’t recommend doing a full weekend in the heat.
I've visited Japan in June/July time and it was pretty bad, I would have thought late September would have been OK but sounds like not the case! At least the sprint shootout starts around 4pm, so makes it a little more palatable. Just have to work out how to kill the time in between the 2, guess I'll have to strike up a conversation with Mrs FB ;)

The race went as I expected, except for a few crashes.
Suzuka usually rains, so hot weather was a bit unusual.

Love the Japanese shamelessly photo bombing every interview with drivers and the Sky guys.
