Amusing reading Fox breathlessly report that the Hamilton signing has "earnt Ferrari" $6bn" ......
The $6bn reactive jump in market cap is paper money for the shareholders, not money into the Ferrari bank account lol

Piero Ferrari still has quite a few I believe.

Was more due to financial results (higher profit)
Yeah, I know it wasn't exclusively due to HAM signing and that it's all on paper/spreadsheet rather than cold hard cash in the bank. Nevertheless, I'd say the news re: HAM did positively impact market sentiment towards Ferrari and I have no doubt that they will end up with cold hard cash in the bank courtesy of sponsors, future sales courtesy of the HAM effect etc etc.

Reveal season has kicked off, with Haas launching a truly stunning livery...

Thankfully, Ayao Komatsu had some positive news for long-suffering Haas fans, explaining that he was expecting Haas to be "towards the back of the grid if not last" in Bahrain. Oh dear...

Two more reveals overnight…

Williams Racing

Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber 🤢

Bilious green highlights to go with the bilious team name! On a more positive note… it’s certainly “different” and will stand out in night races.

It’s been a blockbuster off season.

Stake have launched the car, but almost certainly team name will now need to be called Kick due to lawsuit in Switzerland (illegal gambling advertising related).

CH outcome hopefully known late tonight our time (Friday EU time).

Reports Horner and Newey have “get out” clauses in their contracts if one or the other leave (as does Verstappen apparently).

Good to see solid amount of sponsors on Williams at launch.

Look forward to the rest of the cars but black is the new black seemingly…… (due non-painting of the carbon fibre being weight saving).

Reports Horner and Newey have “get out” clauses in their contracts if one or the other leave (as does Verstappen apparently).

In which case, I wonder if the imminent inquiry into Horners’ conduct will be less condemnatory. Because if that results in his resignation, Verstappen and (imo more importantly) Newey could leave too, and then that’s Red Bull gutted.
In true F1 fashion Newey has apparently denied this rumour

The F1 equivalent of a coaches “full support of the board” in football lexicon.

Other reports saying Horner and Newey aren't as close as the once were.
Horner and Max also, well, Horner and Jos (Jos could start a fight in an empty room).
Who knows, the reports are all speculation to fill content until there is something concrete.
Odd after 18 years or whatever that Horner's management style has garnered a complaint..

Bring on the racing!

No doubt everyone saw the Alpine A524 launch, continuing the terrible theme this year of exposed carbon fibre and minimal colours...

And in the most ironic launch of 2024, the team with the worst name in Formula 1 (a.k.a. Visa Cash App RB Formula 1 Team 🤢🤢🤢) has revealed the best looking livery by a country mile thus far courtesy of the VCARB 01...

Sure... it looks like a late model Scuderia Torro Rosso (which makes one wonder why they didn't just revert to that team name), but compared to the other liveries revealed thus far, this is a cracking effort!!

Good 16+ minute interview with David Croft on ABC Grandstand earlier today about the upcoming season...

Out of interest since I’m likely in Europe this summer 2024
