ADL gets ripped off! Bircher museli!? Red curry? Snack box? If only. Outside meals times we get a muffin (sweet or savory), Byron bay cookies or those disgusting dip things.

Ahh there it is! ADL! that's the issue! you need to shift cities!

Actually one of the best meals i had was ADL-MEL which was the rissoles.. they were pretty good!

Note to self.. never travel with medhead - bad food is loaded!! hehehe

You can see how up with it Mr Woodward is. Qantas has already pulled out of SFO.

That article told me absolutely nothing. Everyone already knew everything in that article already. Yawn Journalism at its best.

I think they're reading too much into the video change. It grew old pretty quick and needs a refresh (and IIRC there were a number of complaints from staffers about it)

While there may be some route cuts, I also expect some product, umm, enhancements, come Aug 24.

That is my current thinking too. :)

yep, JQ getting a couple of 744s.

Are they the Rollers or the GE's Markis?;)

If QF do pull out of these routes and replace them with JQ, QF will have to tread carefully with how they treat those passengers affected. Will it open up bait and switch opportunities for those who miss out on Status perks I do not know.

As for my connections inside, no one person gives the same answer, so who knows. I hope AJ does not do anything that the brand will regret.

I've just been playing around with the Jetstar website and noted that they are selling flights to SGN via Sing from DRW. They also are showing additional flights for SGN via SIN. The flights out of SIN are on Jetstar Asia. Makes me wonder if they will drop the direct DRW - sGN route as I believe loads have been light lately (less than 50). DRW-BKK shows as a one stop via SIN.

I hadn't seen PEN as a destination before but it is also showing.

funnily enough, i had a play on expedia, and my flight on qf107 in late september showed an AA codeshare between lax and jfk...when i checked again later in the day, it was back to qf107 on the 332...

Its a problem. I can only assume QF has retreated from the world on pretty much all their unprofitable routes. Hard to imagine they'd kill a profitable one, but regardless, to me, a single passenger it matters little in the end. I look at where I am, look at where I want to go and see who will take me. As I've thrown in my lot with OneWorld I try them first, but absolutely won't travel with a LCC, so QF's retreat over the years forces this customers hand to other airlines competing with QF (for travel dollars).

I am literally bursting with enthusiasm to see MH join OW for this very reason. Prefer and happy to pull the wallet for QF to take me to places, but its just impossible in many cases. For example, try getting from PER-DPS with a OW carrier.... its essentially impossible. Its only an example, there are plenty to choose from.

If they are assuming that pulling QF and replacing with JQ is going to keep their loyal customers on thatr route I'd humbly suggest its the wrong strategy. On the other hand, I guess the 'old' customers will move away and potentially be replaced with throngs of 'new' customers? Maybe thats the whole point. I'm lamenting the change in an airline that used to suit me but who is changing (due to circumstance) into an airline that will no longer suit me ... in this case I should remember the good old days and move on I suppose.

Well i have had some information given to me regarding the JQ expansion on the 24th. New routes may include:
SHA
DEL
NGB
RAR (interesting choice)
HGH
BOM
PEK
CAN
CTU

There is no may about three of these (other than related to regulatory approvals or ongoing profitability), one already being flown by 3K (HGH) and the other two already announced (PEK, NGB). With the exception of RAR these mainly sound like either 3K destinations or JQ via SIN destinations.

I doubt it will be an order for new aircraft, pity given their Asian competition ordered more this week, with SQ going for 8 777 three class birds while CX ordered 12 more to bring their total 777 order book to 36, 8 of which are 777-200Fs in this latest development.

It will be interesting to watch the different fleet strategies and how they work out, CX have 97 birds on order in total : 28 Boeing 777-300ERs, 19 Airbus A330s, 32 Airbus A350-900s, 10 Boeing 747-8Fs and eight Boeing 777-200Fs.
