my last 2c before tomorrow, QF only service major partner hubs internationally, DXB, LHR, HKG, LAX, DFW. Code share on a virtual network from there. J* to serve all other international routes.

Alternately, as J* staff are on lower contracts, this company gets folded into QF and rebadged to QF.

I like the idea. I think Qantas should retire its B767 faster. Jetstar should be scaled back. But all these needs a bold management to handle.

I was looking at some aaward flights yesterday and the results threw up a few interesting permutations. PER-BKK-LHR in J and F. I found this very interesting because 1 you cant fly PER-BKK nor BKK-LHR on Qf at the moment, and the BKK-LHR flight was QF9.

I haven't been able to replicate it since so it's probably just a glitch in the the AA search program. However, as we are all speculating wildly then I though I would add it in here.

Sounds interesting, although LHR-BKK-LHR is operated by BA 9/10, which might somewhat explain the situation.

What time tomorrow is the QF media conference?

0830 before the stockmarket opens?

Also curious about kick off... will try to run a tablet with Foxtel Go / Sky Business at the time from my desk

From 3AW's @RossAndJohn on Twitter:

#Rumourfile - Will Qantas aircrew hear their fate earlier than the half-yearly announcement? We're told there'll be an 0800 teleconference

No more sleeps before the big news.

I reckon the little guy has got what he wants in repeal of the sales act and a government debt guarantee. So the news will not be as bad as we all think.

Well people outside Australia will merely shrug and go about their business if Qantas should fail. With Delta FF changes QFF 1000 point guarantee in domestic is looking a little better.
Considering that I am flying QF10 HOME next week, I think you need to realise that many on this forum who may not live/currently be in Australia have a lot of interest in what happens with QF in the next 24 hours.

I give you my personal guarantee that it is not closing down in the next 24 hours.

The sky miles thing is not that much didn't from Velocity domestically - I wonder if they have "Crazydave" advising?

The event is at the Westin, I guess the clock hasnt started on the cost cutting.
