30K QFF points + wine for 20 SCs = good deal?

I just picked up a 6-pack of the 2018 Leconfield cabernet and the 2019 Vasse Felix Filius cabernet for 31.5k points after Points Club Plus 10% discount. I'd probably be prepared to purchase these for $20-25/btl each, so the wine is valued between $240-$300 for me (probably at the lower end).

It's definitely not the best use of points, but with my balance ballooning over the last few years due to a number of credit card sign-on bonuses, its a no-brainer for me.
Couldn't agree more with the ballooning balance and it not being the best use of points. We're going to be in "flight" lockdown for quite a while, so 3 x 6-packs for ~29,700 (when you take account of the 500 points earned on the purchase) + the 20 SC is a no brainer.

I would say the best vales sits with the firstcreek regions hilltops (30000, nominal value $342) and Hewitson Ned and Henrys (25000, $336) so 1.1 and 1.3 cents per point.

Or go for 3x Terra Riche Endgame Knights tour (10k $168) 1.68 cents per point. - oops Sold out

What I'm interested to try is the Marquies De goulaine Cuvee, but 0.7 cents per point, so would use cash for that one.

Has anyone got the bonus SCs yet? I wonder if the SCs are dated on the day of issue or day of purchase? This is because, my Point Club plus will expire today but I want the SCs for my next membership. TIA.

I have already received the points from my purchase, which is what's relevant for Points Club membership.

I haven't received the SC but those are only relevant for retaining status, and they should rollover anyway if you have met the minimum 1 flight requirement this year. They also count to LTSC.

Status Credit eligible products gradually getting sold out. Decided to go with this offer. I think it will take up to 14 days to get the bonus status credits.

This is a smart move by QF Wine. I agree, their stock reduction indicates good uptake.

I got my flight SCs rolling over to the next membership year. All other on the ground SCs were not rolled over. Anyway, I made the purchase on 31 Aug to get the 10%. I hope QF will make it possible for me to retain status this year.

Your ground SCs should have rolled over - SC earned from BP, NAB and Red Energy rolled over for myself (30 Jun membership) and my partner (30 Aug). We also had bonus 50% SC and DSC roll over.

The only SC we earned last year which didn't roll over was status support.

Just did the order, first time using qantas wine. I noticed there was an option to add a business name in the delivery address, and apparently if it matches the ABN name the qantas ff account is linked too, the business should also get a serve of points. Find it strange we can't just provide the ABN as done for a flight. I hope the business will get points too, no idea if paying with points will work for that.

@sudoer: Thanks for the info. I have some ground SCs that have not been rolled over. I suspect they are on a different computer algorithm and will come in a few days. if not, i will chase QF for them.

I get QBR bonus points automatically. From memory it was a once off linkup.

In fact, my first QF Wine membership was a comp from QBR and I probably did it then.

I‘m on my second year of Points Club comp membership now.

Quick and fast delivery especially in these sorts of times... now the waiting game for the bonus status credits (T&Cs say it would be 14 days).

My wine order was placed on 31 August and it arrived today, which seemed pretty quick given the current delivery delays and Australia Post staff shortages. Is it just me, or is anyone else out there more excited about the pending arrival of the SCs than the wine? 😜

Me too. 20sc landed.
I have to say the physical delivery of the wine was the slowest I have ever had from Qantas wine.

It is the same for me. The 20 status credits have been added but the wine is still in transit. Hopefully it will be delivered in the next few days.
