Couldn't agree more with the ballooning balance and it not being the best use of points. We're going to be in "flight" lockdown for quite a while, so 3 x 6-packs for ~29,700 (when you take account of the 500 points earned on the purchase) + the 20 SC is a no brainer.I just picked up a 6-pack of the 2018 Leconfield cabernet and the 2019 Vasse Felix Filius cabernet for 31.5k points after Points Club Plus 10% discount. I'd probably be prepared to purchase these for $20-25/btl each, so the wine is valued between $240-$300 for me (probably at the lower end).
It's definitely not the best use of points, but with my balance ballooning over the last few years due to a number of credit card sign-on bonuses, its a no-brainer for me.
