Need to get @Limewood in on this party to tell us how to restore all our new trolleys!
From recent experience WD-40 works a treat to remove the grime. I used "Hillmark Metal Kleen and Polish" to then get the metal looking good again. It's a slow process and I think there's still work to be done.

I think theyre all sold out.
Interestingly, I saw this on Instagram this morning while they were still available before I saw the email from Qantas.

Great, thanks for that. I'll give it a go when it arrives.

I never even got an email.

So the dimensions of the half trolley is half the depth of the full size?

Same. Just saw it posted here.

Roughly. A full size cart fits two trays (deep) but a half size only one.

This is what I was told in July, a full cart weighs ~21kg with dimensions of 81cm x 30cm x 102.8cm whilst a half cart weighs ~14.5kg with dimensions of 43cm x 30.5cm x 102.5cm.

It'll sit next to my desk in the home office that didn't exist before these unprecedented times. Office supplies, camera gear, electrical stuff, cables, wine, spirits...

I got the email from P1 this morning saying 100 carts had been set aside for P1's to buy if they so wished. Then I saw more had been added for general sale but obviously all gone quickly. Probably they will continue to dribble more out until they're all really gone.

The next lot can come from 737's! lol

Did anyone manage to snag one of these??? Fully stocked with up to 160 mini bottles of expiring wine, Tim tams and amenity kits...

Yep I snagged one! It’s ridiculous but I’m pumped!

And the wine is selling for $3 per bottle on the FF store so is worth a reasonable portion of the price. It might not be the sommeliers choice but it’s a fun talking piece!

I got the email from P1 this morning

My email was from the WP team, but no number of carts listed.

When I tried to pay, it said my address wasn't suitable for delivery. I then used chat and Chris checked my address and overrode the system. I got my receipt number instantly on chat and the confirmation email within the minute. :)

Now to wait for the delivery person to call and say it;s on the way.

They’re selling the bottles on the online QF store! $2.99 apiece. I’m not too proud (but have 160 with my cart.)

Sorry, I meant other booze - I have 160 with my cart but don't drink wine... Have had a few offers from friends to take them off my hands though!

Dan Murphy's have sold them previously.

CNA just had a story about the carts, and mentioned how quickly they sold out.

Obviously a WP who wasn't valued:
"As someone who doesn’t stalk the QANTAS website, I wish they’d give Platinum members heads up. "

The comment was part of the traveller story.

Thanks for the heads up on these going back on sale again today Qantas. It was an excellent approach to send out advance notice too all the frequent flyers, and not just the fawned over P1s, a few days in advance and announce an on sale time so everyone that was interested had the opportunity. Really appreciate that this didn't come down to sheer chance, or inside knowledge, especially for those that can't be sitting around refreshing a webpage during their day. Bravo to executive manager of product and service Phil Capps for ensuring all those with an interest in "securing a piece of the 747 legacy" were given every chance to do so today. I doff my cap you you.

But many WP didn't get the email and it was by complete chance I saw this first thing this morning.

They did a press release at 06:51 this morning. It was picked up on by a few of the media outlets and also promoted by QF on Social Media prior to loading on the site.
