I'm flying out in november with mrs nanks85 who has never been in business class in her life and will be her 3rd flight in her life. So i'm trying to make this a nice treat for the two of us. I'm a nothing bronze and never will get beyond that due to only flying once or twice a year. So points earning is my game.
Now my choice of flights i've decided are the 17:45 ex Adelaide which is ment to be a 767 or the 18:50 which is a 737-800.
Whats everyone's thoughts?

I'm another who prefers to select 767 over 737 in either cabin.
In J I like the larger cabin of the 767 & in whY I despise the 3-3 of the 737.
You could always take the international QF82 flight that ops ADL/SYD Wed/Fri/Sun 0750/1015 then you'd get to try out the Skybeds on the A330-300 series aircraft.
for 24,000 points plus AUD103.59 each way on a JASA.
The return international flight is QF81 which ops SYD/ADL Tue/Thu/Sat 1200/1350.
Keep in mind that you could travel ADL/xBNE/TSV for the same points ie 24,000 plus AUD139.45 however you cannot stopover enroute eg BNE on domestic JASAs.
You could travel ADL/SYD/AKL for 36,000 plus AUD200.67 each way on a JASA. International JASAs sometimes permit stopovers at the international gateway city eg SYD or MEL so you could fly to two destinations for the price of one.
Might be worth checking out the status run thread below which has details of the above JASAs plus other ideas.
Going to the Saturday concert. Will be a Blast. In my usual contrarian style I would actually take the 738 in J. The large cabin with 24(?) pax in J seems a little busy to me so would prefer the peace of a 738.
Hope you enjoy Coldplay - which concert are you going to? I am going on the Sunday
Thanks for the ideas there. I gotta mention that i only have a small balance of 60,000 points. Which will be used for myself and my partner. As muched as i'd love to fly non direct and live it up. I don't think the other half would see it that way and wants to take the direct option.
I have thought about QF82 before but the whole 90 mins before departure for a domestic puts me off. Plus i want to have a few drinkies in the lounge which i doesn't go down to well at that time of the morning. Hence why i like flying in the afternoon and between mon-fri from 4pm on Cityflyer. Gotta get the most out of my Qantas fare.
For what i am looking it. If use my 60,000 points for a jasa for two Adl-Syd then plus $80.00 cash. I think it ain't too bad deal of for someone that flys once or twice a year.
