789/388 Broken Business Suites Rife - PAX Involuntary moved

I don't think I've found a QF business suite that has worked perfectly for me - and that's across all the airframes they are installed on (except the 789, which I've not tried yet). I give the first 2 pre-set recline positions a try, early on, invariably resulting in the patented 'jerk-stop-spasm' reaction from the thing, after which I'll only move it about and into positions when not seated in it. If I get up and do it, it glides beautifully into position without a fuss. They're simply too weight sensitive; though to be fair, I am built a bit like a brick sh@#house.

Cheers,
Matt.

Probably better to add to the IT problems thread, but for S&G I note that my app has one seat assignment, the MNB seat map has another - which also agrees with the website version of MNB which still claims I'm in 1A. Good ol' QF - Consistently Inconsistent(tm). Just have to laugh really. 😂🤣

I just want to get there on time at this point. I saw QF93/10SEP MEL-LAX was delayed, stuck at the gate till 0300 (about 6 hours), then crew timed out it seems, so everyone was booted and are trying again tonight at 7pm (they get -ZNA). Not too sure what the issue was, except that they couldn't take off at that 3am point or something as MEL were doing maintenance on the main 16/34 runway and only had 9/27 available, which couldn't be used for that flight. Damn!

Its fairly sad when 24 hour delays at an airlines home base are becoming regular occurrences

24 hour delays at an airlines home base
I dont think home base provides any protection/benefit because all the aircraft are fully utilised with a time table that does not allow any time in reserve and QF long haul aircraft tend to spend more time on the ground far from home base such as LAX, LHR

ZNA departed LHR 2:20 late, departed PER 2:05 late, arriving in MEL 1 minute before it was scheduled to depart for LAX
If it were on time it only had 1:45 on the ground in MEL (home base) based on the schedule.

Agree with the utilization (which is essentially maxed out), but if the issue becomes crew timing out (which i believe it did last night), then finding new crew at a home base should be much easier than at an outstation.

I was on the QF10 inbound. 2hr tech delay in London, but we were told in PER that the Captain was “anxious” to get going quickly to make up some of the time. We pushed back, started engines, then sat for 25 minutes. It turns out another QF aircraft at the bay next to us had pushed back but had its own mechanical failure, needing to be towed back in.

When we arrived in MEL last night, there were three engineers at the door, along with at least 12 cleaners on the aerobridge waiting to get aboard. Obviously they knew there was an issue with the aircraft but were expecting to dispatch QF93.

These mechanical problems and cabin defects with refrigeration and non-functioning J seats are getting worse and worse.

I thought it was a miracle I was only two hours late on both flights, practically ahead of schedule by QF standards!

I think @JohnM experienced something similar, recently.

Nothing to do with broken seats and on a whY-only QLink A320. Complete mismatch of what I had selected, what we got at OLCI and what EF was showing. I could see no rhyme or reason to it.

Sadly my turn to have broken seat issue on QF93 tonight - after requesting and clearing upgrade to J, boarded to find someone else in my seat - number of broken seats which meant re seating pax after boarding.
Sadly as an upgrade pax I had to trudge back to Y - taxing now - only 14 hours to go….
