789/388 Broken Business Suites Rife - PAX Involuntary moved

Sadly my turn to have broken seat issue on QF93 tonight - after requesting and clearing upgrade to J, boarded to find someone else in my seat - number of broken seats which meant re seating pax after boarding.
Sadly as an upgrade pax I had to trudge back to Y - taxing now - only 14 hours to go….
And sadly 5 hours on the phone to Qantas trying to get your points back ..............

What cough.

So if you had boarded early, and taken your assigned seat, you would have received the same treatment as @Pushka - jrfsp, please gather your belongings from the J cabin, as we are going to escort you back to whY.

Seriously, how come seats are only discovered U/S on boarding? What happens after the previous pax departs and the new ones board; does some-one jump up and down on them and break them? Or doesn't the airline bother to keep tabs on the condition from the previous flight and just shrugs, knowing it can always boot upgraded pax - or some other poor sod - and then everything's OK?

An upgrade on Qantas isn't worth the cardboard its printed on.

Not sure but perhaps broke on the previous sector, there’s no down time to repair seats with the tight scheduling.

The crew seemed very peeved about too “this is happening all the time”
The cost cutting has gone too far - restore the cabin engineers that were sacked.

I had the very last row in Y with two seats to myself and the crew were lovely - was great service for economy to be fair

Were you served the J meal (not with tablecloth and china, of course) or J wines? I feel that should be done at the very least as some sort of apology.

Quick update from a few weeks ago. Yes, -ZNM was the bird, and yes 1A was inop (it was stuck in upright position) and no, nobody sat in it (I was in 2A) so yeah. pretty amazing for a relatively new cabin fitout (as in -ZNM was one of the latest batch delivered so has not been flying too long) to have such fails on seats.

QF must be losing revenue on all of these u/s J seats. Terribly frustrating all around.
