This is a great second card. Unlike most of the others, the flight can go east to west coast and is a standard travel agent booking so you will get status credits and points for it.

Unfortunately I don't think this is correct - I just had a read of the T&C's:

2. Offer available to ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures primary cardholders who have made $500 of net eligible purchases within three months of approval. One complimentary flight is available to the primary cardholder each year until the card is cancelled. Complimentary flights are restricted to selected economy fare class on flights operated by Virgin Australia to selected domestic destinations. Bookings are subject to availability and some flights may not have complimentary seats available. Flights must be booked at least 60 days in advance. Not to be combined with any other offer, discount or cabin class upgrades. Fees may apply for excess baggage, booking changes and cancellations. The complimentary flight is not eligible for Velocity Points and/or Status Credits earn.

This has been discussed during previous offers. I along with many others have received points and SC on the free flight.

Plenty of reports of receiving points and SCs regardless of what the T&Cs say! I've had far too many examples of T&Cs being incorrect to regard them as anything more than a general guideline and prefer real reports over what the T&Cs say.

Are youse talking for this card of for AmEx cards (Velocity Plat, Edge)?

It is a pretty good deal. That is almost 60000 Krisflyer miles. Even without conversion to KF I get more value out of Velocity points than QF points because of lack of fuel fines. I will give it a go.

Do they credit points for government earn (excluding ATO) such as council rates (which Citibank cards doesn't)?
Doesn't look like it :-(

You will not earn Rewards Points on interest
charges, premiums paid for ANZ Credit Card
Insurance (ANZ Credit Card Insurance not available
for new customers from March 17th, 2018),
government charges, bank fees, payments made to
the Australian Taxation Office or other taxation
payments or duties, card account adjustments
resulting from disputed transactions or otherwise,
balance transfers or cash advances (as defined in
the ANZ Credit Cards Conditions of Use) or
transactions which are identified to ANZ by the
relevant merchant or any intermediary financial
institution as falling into one of these categories.

It would be for this card as the Edge has done away with the free flight in exchange for a travel credit and apart from very few exceptions the flights with Amex cards (inc the Velocity Plat) don’t earn points or SCs.

Any insight into how picky ANZ is when it comes to other credit card applications on your credit file? Was knocked back for the new Bendigo offer this month having only applied for one other new credit card this year... fine print on ANZ shows the offer is running until the end of October so am tempted to apply probably late October (so as not to be toooooo close to Bendigo), but might not bother if ANZ is equally as picky as Bendigo...

I have the other two ANZ cards at the moment and (probably stupidly) applied for this last month when it was 40k points and got knocked back.

Prior to that, this year I've had HSBC, Westpac, NAB & St.George cards. Not sure if it was going for 3 ANZ cards at once that killed me, but they weren't too judicious before that.

Btw, do any of you know how strict ANZ is with the 12 months wait time? I just realised that today is 364 days since I closed my old ANZ travel rewards (19/09/2017). The new card was approved immediately after the application so that I am thinking of giving ANZ a call tomorrow to see if I would still be eligible for the bonus. Otherwise I would check the possibility of cancelling before the card is issued and reapply in a few days if it does not count as “have closed an ANZ travel rewards card”.

So I called ANZ and asked them nicely and they agreed to honour the 80,000 points. It took a few days so I guess they had to check with some other people but it's all good.

Was approved for this card today .. too good a deal to pass up. Looking at the T&Cs ... am in correct in reading that I will receive some kind of code which I will need to give to ANZ to get bonus points?

“The bonus Velocity Frequent Flyer Points will be credited to your Velocity account within two months of ANZ receiving your Velocity Frequent Flyer account number and unique promotional code (supplied to the customer from ANZ once approved for the ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures card) and the eligible spend criteria being met within three months of approval (whichever comes later)”

I am wondering the same thing. I was approved 2 days ago with and am yet to receive a phone call or code. Hoping to hear from them after the weekend? If not, I might give them a call to check and at least supply my velocity number.

I called ANZ to activate my card and I asked them about the velocity points, they didn't have a clue, I have not seen or had the points mention on any of the ANZ material since I applied through the link.Any one have the same experience
? Im guessing once I reach the spend I will get the code?

I just called also and had the same conversation. They were not aware about the code to be supplied by ANZ.

Best be screenshotting and saving the cough out of the t&cs and advertising for it then...

My experience earlier in the year getting ANZ black was incredibly frustrating. I expect the same obstacles for this card

I got an email entitled, ‘ Hi robbegong, welcome on board’ today. This email contained the promo code and a link to enter the code and my Velocity number. This email came today (Monday) which is five days after card approval and three days after card activation.

Hmmm...Ok thanks for the info.

Thanks for letting us know. Did you recieve a targeted email originally to apply or were you not specifically targeted and just applied through the link in this thread?
