Continuing past Purmamarca westwards and a great drive up and over (4000m) the E Andean mountains to Salinas Grandes up on the altiplano on a road to the Chilean border. The salt lake is not very impressive compared with the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. I made it my turn-around point and headed back to Tilcara for my last night before going back to Salta for my final night in Argentina.

A cruisy run to Salta the next day down onto the lowlands before going over the green sierra on a sunny and dry day.

Then back into night skirting around places unfriendly to Qatar.

Out of the B777 and after a 2h layover in DOH into the A380 for the ride to PER.

J lounge was very quiet, even after we got back into daylight. View out the lounge window.

And then it was on the deck in PER and home, to bring a great trip to a close.

Once again, muchas gracias amigo to @juddles for the initial idea! :):)

Another cracking TR  really enjoyed it, especially the lovely contrasting earthy colours in the Argentinian countryside.
