Back to Auckland today and prepping for client work. Not looking forward to the drive but will be better in daylight.

Tuesday through Friday are client days starting at 7.45 am. Which is 4.15am back home. Usually MrP arrives one day and starts the next so the days are quick start turnarounds so really tiring. Weather not so perfect today. Yesterday was stunning.

Enjoying the TR Pushka. We stayed in Russell a few years ago -lovely spot, we kept extending our stay. In fact the place with the corner balcony peeping out from behind your snap of the fig tree. Sat on the balcony having brekkie every morning. Beautiful

Thats the Duke of Marlborough! Indeed lovely.

Drizzly today.

The pop up market was nice but nothing bought. Started sneezing near the party cakes so moved away then realised they were soaps and I was sneezing because of them.

Hururu falls which would look fantastic in the wet season

They have a dry season do they?:p;)

An interesting drive up to Auckland.

We saw countless number of these:

And this one was barrelling along even in the wet.

And clearly NZ has cornered the market in witches hats. We passed around 10 major road construction sites.

Nice view of Auckland across the Bridge.

So many masts

And view from our room.

At least they are doing some road works up North. Used to be the forgotten roads of New Zealand. As for petrol late last year it was $2.20 to fill. Great report by the way

How ever will your and MrP concentrate tomorrow with clients when the NZ/SA semi final is on :o

More importantly, I hope your meetings are over by Thursday mid to late afternoon, so you can watch the Aust v India match - perhaps over dinner with a glass in hand :D

These clients are very anti typical NZ in that they don't acknowledge sport even exists!

I was going to get tickets but just wont work with work we've got going here.

There is a toll road too. No machines but a photo and you have five days to pay. I set an alarm on the phone as I knew I would forget. Sure enough I needed the alarm.

The huge K12 America's Cup competitor. It lost to Stars and Stripes.

You can pay both ways in advance once you have the car rental registration. Tip for those going up for the FF meeting.

What hotel are you at in AKL? Last time we did it on the cheap and stayed at Rydges - was pretty good for the price but we were only there for the weekend (escaped for a few days while the house here was on the market - back to full time work for a few months so the long weekends are not happening :()
Weather looks to have improved. I'm hanging out for your F EK flight!

The accom isn't cheap but that's because of the cricket. Location is excellent. Has washer and dryer necessary for long stays. But stuff like just 4 coathangers, no drawers so living out of a suitcase - there's no place to put anything, torn curtains and you get the problem. Just 2 cups, 2 plates so if you eat in you have to wash them to have breakfast (no onsite restaurant). Leaving at 7.45 each morning so no lazy breakfast now). I've even cut our lunch as I've no lunch break!

Funny what a big event does to prices! Daughter is going to a concert in Melbourne this weekend and the cricket is on the next day. Her hotel is something like $700 for the night, when we normally get it for about half that.

After a rainy night the sun is coming out. Except I am in a training room. It does have windows.

Work day done. Emails attended to. Sauvignon Blanc Rose (???) in hand. But the cricket has now resumed. Maybe Thai takeaway again and Viaduct tomorrow night. I've a hankering for Lamb. It's superb here.
