A flight a day ...

KUL-TPE was an old A332. I watched a movie and then had a bit more of a nap. The staff on both flights were great. Attentive without being in your face.
So another epic adventure, I am heading to TPE in a week or so then back to KUL on one of the older KL a332 (4A). I guess we will trade stories in KUL or SIN at the crawl in June ;):):)

I decided to take the connecting train to TPE. That meant I could sample the fast rail.

It took 13 minutes to do what the bus took about an hour! I connected onto the commuter rail for the last few ks. TWD130 for the fast rail and 25 for the metro.

Oh the exchange rate is 20:1 so I will leave you to do the maths! 😉

The flight from TPE-KUL started in the Plaza Premium lounge. Pretty innocuous but the hot food was changed regularly and was tasty.

I found myself in the sister aircraft to the one I came up on. So the same seat as before. Even though a bit dated it was still quite comfortable and is true lie flat.

I looked for the egate enrolment in the departure area but couldn’t see it. In any case, I was able to use the egate on departure. A bit like the SIN system where you only need to arrive manually. So next time I will take the time to enrol on arrival.

Well I have checked in for my SQ flight to SIN.
And to JFK.
And to FRA.
And my BA flight to LHR.
And to NCE.

Five BPs is my record (previous was four). I now have a BP for a flight that isn't due to depart for 60 hours.

And as they are all on SQ stock, I am waiting for the look on the face of the lounge angel when I ask to be let into the LHR BA Concorde Room! ;)

4A is close to the aisle. If you want to be closer to the window the odd seats are better. No difference in the storage as both seats have stuff all.

Thanks for the heads up. I was planning to be next to the window so will recheck the seat map.

Edit @JessicaTam is there more than 1 seating config on the MH 332 only asking as the seat map indicates that 4A is next to the window.

Now I’m confused ( although that, in itself, is not unusual). You are flying to maintain your BA status etc but you have SQ tickets flying SQ at least on some major sectors.

I know your TA can book some clever things, but “please explain?” (seeming to forego BAEC earning opportunities).

Can certainly see the rationale for MEL-SYD-PER rather than directly given BA mileage bands

SQ SIN-JFK is the world's longest flight. So as they say in the classics - "because it's there".

The TA was able to add the rest of my SR to that existing booking that I had made with points. I am returning FRA-SIN without the two hours in JFK. :D

I arrived in SIN and headed to immigration. A little tip - fill out the arrival card up to three days before arriving. That saves you having to fill it out in the arrivals hall.

I noticed that my passport e-gate registration expires early next month. But with the new e-gates in SIN I don't think that is relevant any more. A section of the hall is clearly signed for e-gates for AU pax amongst others.

It has been a while since I posted a trip report, so this seemed opportune. I have 28 days leave and so I thought I would do a bit of a status run before my BA year ends.

Now you would realise that I am good at starting trip reports, but bloody hopeless at finishing them. Well this time it's different. I have not packed a camera so all photos will be on my phone and able to upload straight away. It will also be a bit light on detail, so I make sure I post each day - even if just a few words.

This is what 29 flights in 28 days looks like:

It ticks off a few things:

I will be travelling on the (current) world's longest commercial flight SIN-JFK.
I am going to the Monte Carlo Grand Prix - don't ask how much the ticket for that was!
And I am hosting the SIN lounge crawl on the King's Birthday long weekend.

Following along

I remember filling in those cards. As it has been a while since I entered SIN (Covid) does the frequent traveller pass/ stamp still work. Mine is still good for another year and wondering if I may need to enter SG to meet renewal requirements or has the whole program changed.

As I said, it looks like it is no longer necessary. AU passports get auto access to the e-gates.
