Is it just me or is QF1 taking a strange route on to DXB? It's almost like its flying over Adelaide and Perth??

I just caught a view of what I suspect is the bird in question heading NW in cloudless sky into the setting sun sporting only a short contrail. It's not often that we see overflights over PER. If this sis the normal route, then it looks like we'll be seeing plenty in the future.

That is more coverage than it received here in Australia Rallygirl. There was a very short clip of the flyover - that was it. Surprising, given that it is Easter and there was little 'news' to actually report on.
