A little bit of moderation in Dubai.

I'm in the AKL J Lounge.

We are about to board. I'm in 3A to Dubai but I have asked once again to be seated with LW and Markis10.

I hope they will sort it for me. They are trying to re-arrange seating as I NEVER have anyone seated next to me.

I'll show LW and Markis10 my email from Qantas. It's actually very funny because I'm pretty much requesting a downgrade.

I'm sure either lw or m10 would love some time in f. Perhaps a better tact would have been to swap with your friends during the journey...

I'm having such fun reading this thread and I'm with you in spirit!

In the hanger for us to walk through:

It is early morning (4:45 am) here i Abu Dhabi ATM. The weather is brilliant. I hope you both have a great trip. I am about to head to Kuwait, but Mrs F is back in Dubai as of Tuesday. You WILL be blown away by Dubai It is an amazing place.

Jetlagger, the only hi viz are the maintenance staff looking after OQD.

Have video of both presentations from Alan Joyce and Tim Clark (both about 5 mins long), but doubt I will be able to get it up before we leave this afternoon. My arm was too tired to do one for The Hon Anthony Albanese.

Jennifer Byrne is the MC.

Mr Joyce was asked about the firming up of 787 options and replied they have some time yet before a decision to be made, and are working with Emirates on other options in regards sharing routes and equipment.

Mr Clark reported Dubai passed Paris last week to be the second busiest airport in the world by passenger numbers.

Loving it all so far.

The only thing that would make this better than the last Royal Wedding would be a live video feed. Oh well, can't have it all. ;)

markis10, flip your logic a bit - most of your photos are coming in upside-down :p

They've just roped off an area in the flounge for you. Making it spotless

Seems the news outlets are a little slow off the mark today, I can't find any outlet that has published the media conference speeches or a video of the flyover.

Loving the play by play action. I agree a live video feed would have topped it off ;)

To give you an idea, she was about 5'9" tall, so was only about 3/8ths of the size of the engine.

The QF girls:

Now in the First Lounge - in a roped off area as noted by Newk. Are you still here?
