Those are return. You should be able to see availability yourself - just look online under the Classic option (CX flights do not show up - hence the suggestion to call if you'd consider flying back via HKG)

Anyseat awards let you book any free seat on the plane, but the cost usually ends up being about 100 points per $ for the ticket. If you price a one-way J ticket online at $8,000, then expect the AnySeat award to cost around 800,000 points

Well i rang through, and i managed to get busniess paris-London and london-Hong kong, and then economy Hongkong - Sydney and economy Sydney-Adelaide.

so better than nothing. cost me 169,500 points including the booking fee and $335 fees and taxes, so much better than the 1 million points any seat was giving me

Well done. :)

One last suggestion (if you can be bothered) - keep an eye out for those elusive business class seats!!

Given your travel isn't until the end of October, you could still keep an eye on what's happening (particularly the HKG-SYD sector), and give QF a call every now and then to see if something has come available that is business class all the way through. It will cost you 5,000 pts to cancel your current booking, and another 2,500 pt service fee - but the cost of a thru business class would be less points than your current itinerary, and obviously you would be in comfort for the whole trip (something that I think is worth it for a call for everyone now and then!)
