Business lunch meeting at the Sofitel today:

Sadly, the server dropped 2 glasses of red wine on my colleague Terry, lucky for me my well positioned napkin (bottom right) saved my pants from wearing too much (got a couple of drops on my shirt and pants). Terry exited stage right and didn’t come back - instead got a train back to Gold Coast. I spoke to the event coordinator and we went to the events concierge. I sent him a copy of this photo above and all the names of the Sofitel staff he needed to organize the service recovery. He’s arranged for them to replace his shirt and pay for dry cleaning of his pants. He didn’t even get to eat his lamb (so I did once sink ew he wasn’t coming back). Realized I hadn’t taken a photo of my steak.

Spicy Miso Ramen at Nichi Getsu Do, hands down the best Ramen I've had in Sydney

Went out with a client (who’s ex QFi Cabin Crew). Went to Cafe 63, Coorparoo.

Got to be one of the biggest menus I’ve ever seen - too many options.

But a Cajun Barramundi with sweet potato fries and coleslaw; plus a Salmon with mash and carrots were on the cards:

Drinks. Sav Blanc and Glasshouse West Coast IPA.


Greek salad


Slow cooked lamb. Excellent.


Roast cauliflower salad


Greek lemon potatoes


And some pita bread for the sauces


Well worth a visit.

Marriott Brisbane for a lunch event today:



I had the smoked salmon for entree. Simply the best entree I’ve had this year (the crème fresh pannecotta was amazing) and sets the bar high.





I had the chicken. The jus





The best meal of the year, hands down.

Lunch Thursday. Chicken shawarma.


Was quite tasty.

Friday lunch at Lobster Tail in the Westfield Bondi Junction food court.Lobster mornay for Mrsdrron.


And mixed seafood grill for me.


Very nice and with a bottle of Oyster Bay SB it came to $91.

Saturday and the reunion lunch.


Fortunately for the alternate drops Mrsdrron and I had different first choices. To start she had the duck and I the fish.




Both were nice. For mains she had the chicken and I the lamb.




The lamb was very dry.
For dessert she had the Eton mess and I the fig and chocolate tart.




Now I like a good tart but this wasn’t one.

Finally a visit to J Spice Bar, we usually depart MEL D by 10 am


Dare I say a tad disappointing - but keeping my fluids up.
