What I ate today - the food thread

Miss Mi Melbourne never disappoints - unless you're 5 minutes late for Happy Hour 🤦‍♀️

Another very pleasant evening with attentive service.

Nothing beats a bad weather day than having lunch with friends at our favourite restaurant. Boca Italian.
Always start with their take on garlic bread.
IMG_0316.jpeg

Then sharing starters. Truffled mushrooms.
IMG_0317.jpeg

Tuna crisp with chilli and chargrilled eggplant.
IMG_0318.jpeg

Calamari.
IMG_0319.jpeg

And carpaccio.
IMG_0320.jpeg

All excellent. Then 2 pasta dishes. Staci with duck ragu and tagliatelle with lamb ragu. Beautiful.
IMG_0321.jpeg

IMG_0322.jpeg

And finally sweets. Cannoli and Limoncello cream with meringue.

Was a late lunch starting at 1530. The place was full.
Thoroughly recommend.

Wednesday’s event was another lunch seminar at the Sofitel.

IMG_1907.jpeg

There was no service for drinks during the event (my table asked for red wine which was delivered) and there was no alternative drop for dessert - only one listed and delivered.

The base was still stuck to the plate for the dessert (they’d been chilled) and the number of loud (butter) knife, fork and spoon sounds hitting the plate was a regular sounds in the last presentation. A couple of attendees lost their desserts off the table trying to “cut” the dessert (much larger sounds of cutlery and crockery hitting the floor).

if anyone is in Belfast I can highly recommend Edo. Best meal I had in Belfast HomeIMG_9287.jpeg

Sadly, I was so busy chatting with my friend that I was catching up with and hadn’t seen for ages that I forgot to take photos except of my spicy margarita

Tziki Bar at Forest Glen where we now go for lunch every Sunday for their lamb roast special which includes the lamb, a Greek salad, lemon potatoes and pita bread. We usually add a roast cauliflower salad. We have a glass of sav blanc for Mrsdrron and I have a Matso's ginger beer- it is now brewed on the Sunshine Coast at Eumundi. The regular servers now take us to our table and ask if we want the usual order which we say yes. drinks arrive straight away and not too much later the food.
So to the pictures which are in order of mention above.

A bit of an indulgent day. Morning pastries at Ricks on 6th at Maroochydore (worth a visit) with prawns and bubbles in the arvo by our pool. Unfortunately some rain came through and spoiled the ambience.

Crème Brûlée Danish and a Custard Cruffin 😋

Prawns and champagne were both delicious 😋. Prawns were Qld black tiger prawns and we got them from Coles at Coolum. They had them on a special for $8 a kilo! They were so tasty.

I'm not sure working for another week in the UK is worth it
