Accor Fast Track to Silver/Gold/Platinum

Hi brains trust, I am looking at ways to secure Platinum as an A+ member. I need 4 more nights before the end of the year and have already booked in my free night stay. I am not sure if work will allow me to book in one last business trip for the year, so does anyone have any tips? Am I best to simply book a few nights in the cheapest local accommodation for me to tick over to Platinum (Melbourne)? Does Ibis Budget count towards nights stayed?

Your one night free stay - charge something to your room (a beer perhaps) and it should count.

Most Ibis Budget hotels count too.

Some Ibis Budget will count but not all of them. Best to check their hotel page, if you see the block telling you what you'll get as a member including status nights, you're good.

I fake spent last night in the IBIS Budget at Olympic park - $62 plus 8% cashback.

Went and checked in, picked up my arrival gift, dirtied the room and left....

Its the last night I need for Plat and my next booking is at Sofitel in Brisvegas with the wife for a few nights so wanted Plat for the the free brekky and lounge access whilst there...

Seemed a cheap price to pay given lounge rooms are horrendous and buying lounge access is $95 a day.

Did you return the room key?

Look for some short notice "red hot rooms".

For example I see Mantra Jolimont at $80 per night this Sunday and/or Monday.

Do not hesitate they are there now, but they may be gone tomorrow or even later tonight.

Have had to email customer care as my 30 nights have not credited after running into the three nights vs 1x3 night stay issue.

I have stayed 1x2 night and 1x1 night so should be eligible (have sent them a screenshot of the original email saying “Don't forget, you can book the 3 nights in one stay or across multiple stays until 31 December 2024.”)

(Keen to get the upgrade now as I have a 3 night stay at the Metropole Hanoi starting Saturday so extra points and a room upgrade would be nice.)

I stayed 6 nights recently at the Mantra. check out date was 1/10/24.
I had to chase Accor for my points. Just got them yesterday.

How long does it take to get the fast track bonus nights credited? Or should I chase that up also?

From memory I waited about a week for the Qantas fast track nights to be credited after I completed my required stays. The bonus nights when joining A+ was within 24hrs.

Nah just left them in the room like I normally do.

I rarely actually check out.

Never thought of doing this.
I'm guessing the hotel might call you to check if you pass your checkout time and they haven't heard from you

Hi ,

How did you get on with this, as I have just done the same thing, asking for the extra 30 Nights, did they follow up well or are you still chasing ?

Thanks

Just an update, I ended up talking on live chat about this issue.
I then spoke to a real person on live chat. She said she would follow it up for me and sent me an email to confirm this.

She emailed later that day and said she was still waiting to hear back from the relevant department, and would still follow it up for me.
Later the next day I received another email from her and she was happy to tell me that my bonus 10 nights had been credited.

I checked my account and yes they were there. So all good.

They did credit me with the 30 nights as 3x 10 courtesy nights within a day. Waiting to see if the 30 nights also formally posts as I did a three night stay at the Hanoi Metropole (where the gold room upgrade caused some issues).

Also got the 10 nights credited so the mattress run I have planned in Singapore this weekend to get platinum is now technically unnecessary (but hey, I'm now booked at the Pullman Orchard on my Stay Plus night, and the airfare has a $400 cancellation penalty so it's still happening :)).

really dumb question and I think it's answered in the T&Cs, if I partially pay a night using ALL reward points it no longer counts towards the 3 nights for the accelerator correct?

Nights still count if you have something on the folio... Charge something to the room, or don't offset the whole stay, just make sure that if you do #2, you pay at least 11% of the rate in cash, because they don't count tax in their status calculations, so 10% of the room rate is effectively ignored
