I signed up for the ALL Signature (also known as the "Brasil Hack") in November 2023 to make Platinum by January 2025. The theory was that you got 1,000 status points monthly totaling 12,000 by the end of the year and only had to spend the remaining $ with Accor hotel stays to cross the 14,000 status points needed.
My renewal date was the 29th of each month. I (wrongly) assumed I'd have 12,000 points by the end of the year, and I had my minimum spend covered to cross the 14,000 status points threshold.
Well, imagine my surprise when I discovered yesterday I did not make Platinum, and I was renewed for 2025 at Gold! Argh!!
So, aside from beating myself up and feeling like a proper fool, I went back over all the Signature transactions to try and work out what happened.
The issue is I only received 11,000 status points last year, not 12,000.
In 2023, I had the 1,000 points hit my account on 29/11/23. then 30/11/23.
In 2024, the points hit 30/1/24, and then something strange happened. The next drop of points was 2/3/24. From there, the points landed on the second of each month.
So that meant when I got to December, my December points (which were still renewed on 29/12/24) didn't hit my account until 2/1/25. Hence, I was 600 points short of Platinum and renewed at Gold.
Is there any chance of Accor acknowledging this technicality that prevented me from hitting Platinum? Or should accept my error and wait another year and ensure I make it for 2026?
