Accor Plus Membership Discussion

Correct.

Have done this myself at Tayim last year with a group of five. My Accor Plus card and one MFOD cert gave 40% off food, as expected.

If you were in a group of 4, how does it work? Do you just tell the staff that you're splitting it into parties of 2? leading to 50% off each with Accor Plus with you and MFOD for the other party?

Also does anyone have any Accor Plus restaurants recommendations that are worthwhile visiting? Tayim and Miss Mi were pretty great. I think Dixon would be great but I would like to avoid them on principle.

No, there's no need. You can use multiple Accor Plus cards/MFOD certs at a single table in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Just give them all the cards/certs when requesting your bill.

I had wondered what would happen in my case (5 diners x 2 cards = 40% off) if one of the diners at my table went for some fresh air while we fixed up the bill.... 😂

Just want to confirm my understanding of the Accor status system/path to platinum etc. Please let me know if the following logic below is correct.

Accor status system is outlined here: https://help.accorplus.com/hc/en-au...my-Status-points-expire-How-does-status-work-

"Accor Plus members have their status assessed at the time of your Accor Plus membership renewal. The Status Tier will be assessed based on the Eligible Status Nights or Status points earned during one of the two periods:
  1. The current calendar year to date
  2. The previous calendar year"
My situation:
- Currently Silver with total of 29 nights (9 nights in 2023 calendar year + 20 freebie nights from Accor)
- My Accor Plus expires on 31 August 2023/renews 1 Sept.
- Have 1 upcoming night at Ibis Budget on 18 Aug 2023, this will take me to 30 nights, ie to Gold prior to 31 August.
- From 1 Sept 2023, Accor will credit me another 20 nights as per their current promo - this will take me to 50 nights.
- Have 2 more nights upcoming in November, taking me to 52 nights.
- During Nov/Dec, could potentially do another 8 nights to take balance to 60 nights prior to 31 Dec, and become Platinum.
- On 31 Dec all nights expire, so 1 Jan 2024 have zero nights count, but will remain Platinum until next membership expiry on 31 August 2024.
- Come 1 Sept 2024, system sees my nights count in calendar 2023 was 60 nights, so stay Platinum through to 31 December 2024 (or will that be through to 31 Aug 2025?).

Have I got it right?

If you renew in Aug 2024, Platinum will extend to Aug 2025.

The assumption here is that you (and anyone else with an Accor Plus renewal between now and the end of the year) will get 2 x 20 nights in the same calendar year and they'll both count to status qualification.

I don't think we have any data points yet, but it's possible that this will happen as a once off this year.

Yes, that is the assumption. The first 20 nights I received last week. Fortunately the next 20 nights for me will occur before my upcoming trip in November, so at least I'll know by then whether I am going for the additional 8 nights mattress run to Plat. Will report back.

But we do know that Accor Plus have said it will happen.

From August 1, 2023, all new and renewing Accor Plus members will receive a permanent bonus of 20 Status Nights, accelerating their journey to the next status level or extending their current status. In addition, they will enjoy an automatic qualification for Elite status in ALL - Accor Live Limitless, Accor's global lifestyle loyalty programme.

In the spirit of rewarding, all existing Accor Plus members, regardless of their current status, will also receive a one-time bonus of 20 Status Nights. For those that renew their membership from August 1 until December 2023, they will also receive an additional bonus of 20 Status Nights, meaning a total of 40 Status Nights will be given and at minimum an automatic upgrade to Gold status* will be granted.

Haven’t you got yours yet?
I renewed months ago and the 20 nights were credited last week.
Not much use to me mind you

I have got them - but just 20, instead of the 40 (!) nights that Accor Plus renewals between Aug and Dec will be receiving. Lounges are going to be heaving next year.

Thanks, didn’t see that but.
Another 20 nights won’t do me any good either but yes it seems that H1 folk will be shortchanged.
As to the lounges, many are already crowded so not overly thrilled at these changes even though I have been assured that Accor will be making some changes and tweaks to lounge access

I renewed a week ago before the announcement and do not have my 20 bonus nights yet.

All went smoothly. I think the food has gone downhill slightly at Tayim, definitely not as good as I remember it from a year ago, although still decent.

Interestingly they didn't take or scan the MFOD certificate, so assume I would be able to use it again.

I dined there about a month ago. They just eye-balled my digitial Accor Plus card. Didn't care to take down the number.
