Accor Plus Membership Discussion

Can i get some assistance in working out the best scenario for me to best retain my platinum status as well as utilise the free 20 nights on renewal of Accor Plus:
  • Accor Plus expiring end of this month
  • Platinum attained in 2023 calendar year
What's the best solution for me to retain platinum for as long as possible whilst having the 20 status nights credited next year where it would be a lot more useful in retaining my status?

Am i correct in assuming if i renew this year, I will retain Platinum until Nov '25 but lose the 20 status nights or renew next year with the 20 status nights boost and only be gold?

That's easy. Renew Accor Plus right now and you'll retain Platinum until Nov 2025.
If you don't renew Accor Plus this year then you will immediately drop to Gold on 01/01/25. Keep in mind that you will get another 20 status nights in Nov 2025 if you choose to again renew at that time.

I would look at it differently - yes, you'll lose the 20 status nights on 31 Dec, but who cares? You'll be Platinum for effectively another year, the equivalent of 60 status nights - if you're not going to make use of the current discount that runs until Dec 2, you could renew on Dec 31 and get 12 months more, you don't need to stick to your Nov renewal, although I think it would be smart to consider cancelling and re-signing up by Dec 2 with the 40% discount. There's no calculous in which those 20 nights in 2025 would be better for you than not having the 20 nights in 2024 (which won't even get you to Gold), but retaining Platinum.

Gday all, just wondering if accor allow an existing member in joining up to two accor plus memberships at once e.g different email addresses? I see memberships are currently on a discount and wouldn't mind to take advantage of the stayplus benefit.

I'm not caring too much about points as I understand it will remain on the one account.

Cheers

Yeah. Plenty of people have more than one.

A bit late to this. If BrandC is saying they got Platinum in 2023 - doesn't that mean they have Platinum until 12/2024?

If so, they should be able to wait until early December 2024 - if they wanted the extra month of Platinum

If that extra month is important then yeah sure. There's usually a small discount for renewing early so that's another consideration.

Thanks all, have just renewed on another account with the 40% Black Friday promotion. Hoping to get this merged with my existing profile like some users above have reported doing.

Welcome to AFF @BrandC
I opened a 2nd account, current one ends Nov 30, new one September 30.
I was informed that my accounts cannot be merged until December 1. Have called several times and given same information.

Out of interest, did they indicate which account would remain as the "primary" (i.e. does your old account merge into the new one with any/all points and status, or does the new account merge into your existing one)?

I asked that question of Accor + on the basis that I have forward bookings on #1 card @DejaBrew
They will merge new into old to preserve bookings, points and status. I do have a RHR booked and paid for 2nd December on the new card, so will be interesting to see how it pans out.
Will try to remember to update.

Would do it ASAP have heard that they are looking at closing the loophole
