Accor Plus Membership Discussion

IME every Accor property I have stayed in the past 2 years has asked for photo ID on check in.
Same here, it’s SOP, however a guest on the booking can show ID and get keys. I had a quick chat this morning to an Accor regional manager (Premium, Midscale & Economy) and they said hotels are concerned about fraud and chargebacks which have been on the rise lately. Using cash, doing a prepaid reservation or perhaps even a physical gift card tends to minimise any hotel risk was a suggestion.

I had two suburban properties in the past year that didn't. I just gave them my last name and they gave me the keys. I must have a trustworthy looking face.

Well, tis the 31st and my 30th Dec 2nd month points haven't landed for signature. Got bigger things to focus on tonight but it just occurred to me that they hadn't landed...the chances of this being a monthly follow up exercise just increased a fair few percent.

A single night stay on 30/12 has tipped me over to Platinum for 2025, however I’m unable to find out whether the status benefits (specifically included breakfast) apply to bookings made while I was still Gold. Logic suggests they should but does anyone have a definitive answer?
