Cheaply? Book a qualifying ibis budget in Australia (e.g., ibis budget Sydney Olympic park). These can be booked for as little as $60/night. However, before doing so you’ll want to register for the ibis 50 year anniversary promotion which will get you 500 Accor points (~$15 AUD in value) on every stay at an ibis. Then purchase it through a portal like ShopBack to get 7% back. This would effectively make each night cost around $40/night.Hi, I am missing 4 nights or 571 Status points to re qualify for Accor Gold before 31 Dec 24, any ideas how to cheaply do it?
I think you hit the nail on the head here. They stayed 6 nights this year at Accor properties meaning any benefits from status will be minimal at best. And with Gold not providing too much more over Silver there really isn’t much of an argument in going out of your way for it, even if you were travelling enough. I believe you can request a late checkout which even as a Platinum is far from a sure thing and maybe you get a welcome gift of some chocolates. Upgrades are possible but at the Gold level from my experience they were fairly rare. Platinum is a nice sweet spot since you do get free breakfast in Asia Pacific, lounges, 2 suite upgrade coupons, better luck at upgrades and better gifts but that requires staying 60 nights which can be a challenge.I guess the other thing worth considering is how much Gold is worth and whether spending $300+ will get you any benefits. It does seem that Gold offers very little, maybe an upgrade here or there but not a lot else
If you've never signed up for Accor Plus, it's 40% off at the moment. Looking at the same random dates in April I plugged in, it was $3.8k for non-members, $3.6k for ALL Members and $3.3k for Accor Plus for a flexible room rate, and you'll get 20 status nights which, when combined with the nine nights you plan to stay, will put you one night off gold status (unless you already have a few nights under your belt). The various Accor memberships and paid memberships are very confusing. Im looking at booking the Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua for 9 nights in April - the basic room (with free cancellation and no breakfast) will cost $4000AUD.
Would there be any benefit in signing up to the current Accor Explorer sale for $239 and then trying to book the above accom? I think the only benefit is it may attract a 15% discount rate instead of 5% for my free tier?

Accor SignatureI will miss reaching Diamond this year by about 2000 status points. A couple of questions
1. Is it worth chasing Diamond, and
2. Any suggestions as to how I can reach this would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
