Accor Plus renewal - any deals?

I decided against renewing late last year, yesterday in the mail I got comped to Le Accor Platinum. I was only silver with Accor +. Not sure how they worked that one out?

How soon before you expire do they call for renewal? My Platinum expires this this month (April) but I haven't had a call. If I get nuked to basic status, it's bye-bye to Accor.

Id hazard a guess that you should get a call within a week? They really do fold like a deck of cards when you straight out say no to renewing.
I asked my agent... "so, what status would i retain if I were to renew.." - "sir, based on your activity, Silver" . I replied "oh, no thanks then", to which they immediately asked, "what if we gave you platinum for another year?" As a data point, I had only stayed maybe 3 times at Accor properties in the past year.

They have never contacted me, every time I have had to phone them. I’d call them tomorrow if it were me.

Yes hoping that’s my scenario, but if not I have Gold on several other loyalty cards, I shall report back. Cheers.

I had to ring to renew mine. I am platinum on activity so they didn’t need to throw that in, but no other sweeteners either. I suspect they work on the basis that as an earned plat, i we should be able to see the value equation

I just rang Accor and asked what would be the status on my platinum card renewal and she said I am now silver. I asked about retaining comp plat and she said no. I told her to please cancel the account, and she said fine, goodbye and thank-you for calling. I wasn't making the minimum nights target for platinum, but I was spending a 5-figure amount at Accor annually. Back to Hilton and IHG.

My advice is if you haven’t heard from an AccorPlus sales person within 2 weeks of your Platinum status lapsing, ring them. Once your anniversary is reached and you drop back to silver the process is irreversible.

Best I ever negotiate is an extra month on my expiry ... effectively a 13 month membership.

Via another country over the phone.
All the same benefits as the AU program.

Can't be done without a referral though as normally you need to give residential address of that country.

Happy to refer it anyone is interested. Think they said they would give me a free breakfast or wine coupon.

No I haven't been Platinum for a few years now, don't travel enough. So I'm just a silver now.
