I'm sure there must be a thread somewhere regarding this but a quick perusal did not reveal such a thread. I'm an Accor+Platinum looking to use up some of the Qantas hotel vouchers I have from Points Club and am wondering if Accor properties booked through Qantas Hotels would count towards elite night stays and whether I would receive my Platinum benefits on such a stay? I suspect the experience here might be mixed and depend on channel booked. For instance, when staying at Accor properties booked through my employer's travel agency (CTM), there was no issues linking the stay to my Accor account and receiving ALL benefits and status nights.

Generally, a stay booked through Qantas Hotels would not qualify for nights/points. CTM is probably regarded as a traditional agency.

Eligible stays include are those made through
  1. Accor distribution channels (Websites, Accor booking office, hotels) and
  2. traditional travel agencies connected automatically to the Accor booking office.
Ineligible stays are those made through a
  1. reseller,
  2. tour operator or
  3. third-party online travel agency (such as Expedia.com, booking.com, etc.)

As for other benefits, some hotels give them, some don't.

There is no opportunity to put your Accor number in a Qantas Hotels reservation. If you offer it at check-in, it will certainly be declined.

Page 3 explains why your CTM booking was eligible and Qantas Hotels is not.

Eligible Stay: Stay booked at a participating hotel at eligible rates (as defined in Article 7.1 ‘Rates Eligible to Earn Points’) via Accor distribution channels (Websites, Accor booking office, hotels) and traditional travel agencies connected automatically to the Accor booking office. Stays booked through a reseller, tour operator or third-party online travel agency (such as Expedia.com, booking.com, etc.) are not considered Eligible Stays and do not earn Points or Eligible Nights towards a Status level.

Page 15 explains why you would not be entitled to any status benefits on a Qantas Hotels stay.

Most hotel programs work this way but it must be confusing for peeps who see the close tie with QF and Accor and therefore book via QF Hotels.

No big deal as a once off but not a good idea if seeking status will ALL (or worse, have status).

I gave up ALL status night earn and benefits (free welcome drink) on a stay at the Fairmont Chicago by booking with QF Hotels because for my particular stay QF Hotels was almost $500 cheaper and I could pay in AUD. No free drink was worth $500 (plus bonus QF points). YMMV but I wasn't going to get to Platinum due to those nights anyway.

Can confirm no benefits booking through Qantas.

Personally i can’t understand why not. QF and ALL launched their partnership with great fanfare, even upgraded the status of qantas FFers (I got gold or something?). So you book through Qantas and get zero recognition when turing up at an ALL property.

Pretty misleading on ALL’s behalf.

Yep massive miss for qantas’ tie up with Accor that uoi won’t get status benefits if you book via qantas hotels.

I out this squarely on Accor and ALL. They’re the ones giving away things like free status, but then won’t honor benefits.

You book though Accor, you get Accor benefits (points, stays, status recognition). You book through Qantas, you get Qantas benefits (points).

You book Qantas flights/stay Accor you get points in the other program as well - that's the mutual bit.

The lack of hotel program recognition through booking through Q Hotels isn't unique to Accor, of course.

Yes, i found out the hard way!

While I was aware that booking through third parties excluded ALL benefits, I made the [incorrect] assumption that the huge launch of the ALL/Qantas partnership meant that booking through qantas would still get you ALL benefits.

Nowhere was it clearly stated that - despite the partnership - booking through Qantas would void all benefits.

I mean it simply doesn’t make sense to book through qantas, for the same price as ALL direct, but to forego all your hotel status benefits!

To be fair, seems like ALL is in bed with most airlines.

Though @RooFlyer I gave my ALL # for a recent booking in Ko Samui in email correspondence prior to our stay when enquiring about dining benefits.
This was duly recorded and was given handwritten note from GM acknowledging status, welcome drinks x 2, early check-in and offered late check-out. Upgrade was offered but chose to stay in the suite we booked.

Like @Lynda2475 went through Qantas Hotels as room rate was $80 -100 pn cheaper and on a 9 point per $ stay.
In this instance a saving of $500 was the more sensible option and wasn't going to up my status.

There will always be stories like this where properties go above and beyond in delivering some benefits on OTA bookings. I had a similar occurrence at a Hilton property booked through Booking.com last month.

The point is that it's not an entitlement - it's great when it happens, but can't be expected.

I find sending it to the property's internal reservations team ahead of the stay like you've done (especially if you can unearth the Accor confirmation number, rather than the OTA confirmation number) is generally the best option. I usually say that I'm hoping to get the stay appearing in my ALL app, rather than inferring expectation of status benefits.

When emailing @sudoer , only mentioned was A+ and reply was please provide your # so we can record it on your profile.
All restaurant staff acknowledged we were A+ without having to mention it.

Some hotels have excellent customer service and happy to report Garrya Tongsai Bay is one we have had the pleasure to experience recently.

But agree, the inclusion of benefits should not be expected.

It's buried in the QF Accor partner page FAQ. The one benefit you do get through QF hotels is 1 more point per dollar.

What happens if I book an Accor property through Qantas Hotels?

If you book your Accor stay at a participating property within Australia via Qantas Hotels you'll earn 1 bonus Qantas Point in addition to the usual 3 points per A$1 spent.

You won’t be eligible for ALL - Accor Live Limitless Reward points and Status Nights with your stay.
