Anything in the fridge? The reason I ask is sometimes they'll have a plate of fresh fruit which they store in the fridge so it doesn't get gross. This happened to me when I stayed at the
Mercure Sydney Macquarie Park (although they did have beers and whole fruit laying on the table waiting for my immediate consumption!)
With that being said, that is very disappointing if true. Welcome gifts are a published benefit of being an Accor elite and it's something you should expect anywhere in the world. Heck, even when I stayed at the
Novotel Montreal Airport with reception that were clueless on what Accor status was all about, I was still greeted with a pair of Novotel socks, water bottle, chips and water when I got to the room. Heck, if we're talking about Sydney Olympic Park, just a few weeks ago I
stayed at the ibis Budget Sydney Olympic Park and was given a 2 bottles of sparkling water and a box of cakes at check-in as an Accor+Platinum. And that was on a $90/night red hot room.
Given the reviews, I think I'll have to stay clear of this one. Then again, it's unusual for this Kangaroo to be staying at hotels much more than $100/night.
